Snuggles on Sunday

 

Tama-Chan: Welcome, Dear Friends, to our last SoS post for the month of April. I am not sure when the first edition will be as #1 will be abandoning us. This time, she is not going off anywhere exciting for a competition or some such. She is heading to Le Mans, to a clinic where she will have hip replacement surgery.  Her right hip has become increasingly painful and she is very much hoping that this will get rid of the issues. She will spend six days in hospital and, after that, a week at a post-op care facility. Mr. G  will be looking after us, but we will miss our #1! We're not sure at all what her blogging capacity will be in the immediate aftermath, so lease bear with us.

We are happy to say that, this week, we have a full horsey line-up! Heloise remains really hard to capture properly, so this is the best #1 could do:

Violette is always willing to cooperate for a snuggle!

As of course is The Big V!

On the home front, here I am, snuggling with #1:

And I of course took the opportunity to snuggle when our friend Ms. R came to visit!

Benny is pretty good at laying claim to #1 for cuddles. Here, he nabbed her when she sat on the bed for a bit:

Of course, a certain white fluff-puff, aka Momo, is always after snuggles with Ollie!

Birthday Girl Heloise!

 

#1 here! Today, we celebrate the sixth birthday of our beautiful girl, Heloise! I have known her since the day she was born, and she became part of the Poupounette Gang in late 2019, along with her Mama, Hotesse, thanks to the kindness of  many friends. Here are some photos of her first few days:

Heloise's daddy, Titus de Vanoise, was French champion in his younger days, and is the sweetest stallion ever!

Miss Heloise has grown into a beautiful mare, and has a great sense of humour!

She has even been to Paris, to take part in a Japanese festival!

And she enjoys her position as The Big V's #1 girl!

Violette & Co. Vendredi

 

Violette: Pretty Neighs, Dear Friends! Yesterday, we had our bimonthly hooficure and #1 spent the morning with us and the farrier. The weather was better than expected and it did not rain. When Ms. C called to us, we were at the bottom of the field and we thundered up. Even I thundered which pleased #1 no end! I'm on the right of the pics. Look at me go!!!

And we got lots and lots of carrots and apples, even the youngsters. It was a good day!

Ollie's Thankful Thursday

 

Ollie: Woofs Everyone! Ollie here. This morning, we are heading out to the horses as the farrier is coming to give them their regular hooficure. It means I will be able to spend time with my daughter, Lily, and stepdaughter, Leonie. I always have a great time with them, even though "little" Leonie can be pretty rough! I am thankful for their company!

I also wanted to show you this pic of me in the daffodils and red dead nettles. The bluebells are still in bloom, but so are many other flowers!

We are all thankful for the beauty they bring into our lives!

PS: We are also thankful for the tip to look regularly at our comment spam folder. After the initial 350+ comments we discovered in there, we continued to look every day, and find anything from five to more than ten comments in there. The extraordinary thing is that some of them date back as far as 2009!

Wednesday Wonder - A Woofie's Kindness

Today's post is an unusual one. Friends of #1's in Germany have a barn cat who had serious complications while having kittens a few days ago. The mother cat is at the vet's where she had surgery and is now in recovery. In the interim, the friends' older dog, Sissi,  has adopted the kittens and is taking care of them . They are also being fed by hand every couple of hours. Here are a couple of photos and a sweet video. Sadly one of the kittens did not make it. These photos and video were taken before he ran off to the Bridge.

Tama-Chan Tuesday

 

Tama-Chan: You know it's spring, we know it's spring, the garden knows it's spring, but the weather gods appear to have mixed things up. It hasn't gotten warm enough yet for #1 to shed her fleeces! It's almost May! She was able to open the kitchen window for us just one time so far this spring! Of course, I took advantage immediately.

Do you get the idea that some kitties like to live dangerously?

Of course, my tolerance levels are improved by sunpuddles...

Yes, #1, I'll look at you so you can admire my emerald-green eyes:

But we should get back to work. Deadlines don't wait, you know!

Where's Momo-Chan?

"Hiding" with his enormous floofy tail showing is one of Momo's favourite pastimes!

One day last week, it was warm enough to leave the window in the kitchen open during the day, and Benny and Momo had a great time!

Ollie continued to enjoy the bluebells!

And The Big V never tires of being the handsomest guy around!

Tama-Chan: Hello Dear Friends and welcome to our weekly snuggle post. This past week has, as usual, a good week for snuggles. Let me start with some of the "Bed Crew" starring  Benny, Momo, and Ollie

We had a visit this week from our friend, Ms. H. Ever since she lost her woofie, Yumi-Chan, she has not had any pets and really misses them, so Ollie and I worked hard to make her feel loved:

This week, we once again have snuggle pics with Vidock and Violette, and once again none with Heloise! Why is that? Well, because the "greys" drive her away if she gets close and #1 has to throw her her treats. But the farrier is coming next week and we know we'll get some good shots then!
