Violette: Pretty Neighs, Dear Friends! Today, we want to tell you about our new shoes as The Big V and I were both fitted on Wednesday. Let me tell you, it was high time! I usually only wear shoes on my front feet and I had lost one so I wasn't walking very straight. As for the Big V, he was totally barefoot and that big boy needs them on all four feet for the kind of work he's going to be doing. The great news is that Mr. N, the farrier who used to shoe us initially, and who is wonderful, had agreed to take us on again. So, on Wednesday, he came and Mr. E came with him.
It was raining so they brought me in a little before so my feet could dry. Diddle guarded me:

Ta Daaaaa! Lovely footwear for the fashionable equine girl!
Vidock: As I am going to start pulling carts and will be going on the road, I needed shoes on all four feet this time. I also started with a good trim:
Mr. E made sure I behaved myself:
It's a fiery business getting those shoes fitted properly!
And here I am, all proud of my new shoes!

ReplyDeleteThat is one good blacksmith or farrier, since he shoes with hot shoes. They can be fitted so much better that way. Glad it all went well. Take care.

Je me doutais bien que Violette ne devrait être ferrée que de devant. Il est assez rare de mettre en ensemble dans un prés des chevaux ferrés des 4. Même avec des chevaux gentils un accident est très vite arrivé.
