This blog was started in June 2008 by a young sorrel Abyssinian cat called Sen-Chan and a slightly younger English Springer Spaniel called Tommy. The years that followed were full of hellos and goodbyes. Some, like Sen-Chan and Yuu-Chan, were lost very young. Other Abys like Sei-Chan, Bibi, and Genji stayed with us for quite a few years. But they too have gone now, as has Tommy. In the interim, several Percheron horses joined the family, starting with Vidock in 2010, Violette in 2012, and then Hotesse and Heloise in 2020. They contribute to the blog regularly. But the mainstays are Ollie, also an English Springer Spaniel, Tama, an Abyssinian queen who has been with us since late 2008, and Benkei (Benny), a little ruffian who joined us in 2021, followed by Momo in 2022, and another Aby boy, Ryū, in 2023.. We live in rural France, in a region called the Perche, which is famous for its heavy horses.
Sen-Chan: What do you think? Do I qualify for FROOTBAT FRIDAY?
Tom: What about me? I guess you're going to tell me I don't, aren't you?!
I'm going to the vet's again this afternoon to get checked out, so please cross your paws for me! I want to get back to running in the field and playing Frisbee!
You are DEFINITELY a froot-bat today, Sen-Chan! And a very good-lookin' fellow, too. My mom just lerrrves your fur colors and your athletic body and your sleekness and-"HEY, MOM!!!! I don't THINK so! I am NOT helpin' you make all nicey-nice with another cat..what're you thinkin'?"
Tom, dude, I'm real sorry, but, nope, no froot-bat there. But I WILL be thinkin' about you today and hopin' it all goes well at the V-E-T so you can get back to playin' outside again!
I don't know, Sen-Chan, we are not froot bats, and actually, come to think of it, we are much more interested in your tail right now and how it is moving....
*POUNCE*
(whispers into Sen-Chan's ear) Hey.... let's all get Tom! Tee hee!!
Oh yes, 100% frootbat!! Sorry about going back to the vet Tom. My LL was just there but for work not with me. Though she's threatening with the squirts....
