Wednesday Whinnies with Violette

Violette: Pretty Neighs, Everyone! I hope you are all well. Not too cold? It's been very cold here, and I am grateful to have my thick woolly coat!

I have been learning more new things! #1 was over on Sunday afternoon. I wore my collar and harness again, and she and Ms. C put a swingletree (it's called singletree in North America) on me for the first time. It's a metal bar that balances the pull of a draught horse. And after that, they even attached a log to it so I had my first experience of logging. It was very exciting!

I love being a working horse!

#1 even took a short video of me!

And after all that hard work, I got a fab treat bucket!

Tama-Chan Tuesday

Tama-Chan: Would I sound a tad drama queenish if I described this week as the week of abandonment? You see, #1 is going off to Paris this afternoon, to the big national agricultural fair. She will return tomorrow evening. And then she leaves again on Friday morning, returning next  Monday morning. I suppose that latter trip is sanctioned by us as she is going to see The Big V. But still....  Of course, Mr. G is looking after is so it's not actually going to be a huge hardship. But still...

Despite all of this, I have been my usual generous self and helped her considerably when she changed the sheets. #1 is conscientious and she turns the mattress around first:

The most excellent news is that, because it is so cold right now, she put on the flannel sheets. I love flannel sheets!

We have done pretty well on the sunpuddle front of late. #1 caught me as I was having my bath:

And since today is after all ToesDay, here is a little extra picture for you!

Manly Monday

Vidock: Good Looking Neighs, EveryFriend! The Big V here! You know the strangest thing happened to me last week. I got a bath, and then they put me in a lorry:

I got to a different place and they put me in a box and then, I fell asleep. When I woke up, I didn't quite feel the same. And then I came back to the farm, and I spent a few more days in a box And now, I am out in my field again. Well, you know what they say... Go with the flow, right?

Needless to say, the first thing I did was have a good roll in the mud. Who needs all that clean stuff?

Rumour has it that #1 is coming to see me next weekend. Don't forget the apples and carrots, #1!!!!

Tommy: I have been very busy. One of #1's friends is retiring and we were invited to both her retirement events. I helped with the speeches!

And I had a fun time with friends when we went to see Violette yesterday. It was great to see that cutie, Melba, again!

Da Beebs: Just call me Mr. BoDangle!

 Class... Da Beebs has it...

Da Genj: Yeee Haaaaaa! I am training for when I get to ride Violette!

I rest my case:

 Have a great week, everyone!

Snuggles on Sunday

Tama-Chan: My sister Sei mentioned it yesterday but it is getting cold, Dear Friends , and when it is this cold, there is nothing better than snuggling to keep warm! So, I have been snuggling with Tommy:

And I also snuggled with #1:

That Beebsy son of mine absolutely adores having his ears rubbed, so #1 obliged:

Da Genj of course glued himself to #1 as often as he could:

And then we have this rather strange picture that is apparently Sei-Chan snuggling with #1!

#1 is off to see Violette today so there will be some fresh snuggle pics of her next weekend. And please join us tomorrow for Manly Monday in which the new and improved Big V will make his return!

SEIturday

Sei-Chan: Welcome back to SEturday, Dear Friends! I hope you have had a good week. The temperatures have suddenly plunged here and, apparently, the BIG chill is coming next week. Thank goodness our central heating is fixed! Paws crossed there are no more problems. Here are a couple of photos of when we had the oil-filled radiators out and working:

With the colder weather, we have also been getting some nice sunpuddles. And I am back to being on the regular radiators!

There are, of course, occasional forays to the sofa:

And I remain devoted to the radiator hammock in the study!

I wish you all a warm and pleasant SEIturday!

Frootbat Friday

Da Genj: Greetings, everyone and welcome to Frootbat Friday! We have had some really nice sunpuddles this week and so #1 has been busy with her camera! Let me start with my exquisite frootbats:

And a mysterious hind view of the BeebsyBats:

Some rather nice SeiBats:

And rather thoughtful Queen Tama 'Bats:

#1 didn't get a good flying ears pic this week, so here is one of Tommy from a couple of weeks ago, when we had that snow, showing a rather fine and unusual Half-Flying Ear!

Violette sent a picture from her new place:

And we have a special guest this week, with probably the best Frootbats ever. Meet Violette's best friend, Samia!

Here is a pic of the two of the together in the snow!

Tommy's Thankful Thursday

Tommy: I must say that we do have lots to be thankful for. The biggest thank you is that Vidock's surgery went well and he is back in his field, apparently quite happy. #1 was feeling sick about that one, so it's really big.

We also must subscribe today to a variant of a Japanese phrase that talks of "good luck within bad luck." Yesterday morning, as #1 sat at her computer, the electricity went poof! She checked the breakers (the house is on two different circuits) and saw that it was one side of the house only. She tried to flip the breaker but it wasn't having it. We were about to leave to see Violette, so she called the electrician and said she would be back by 3pm. The wonderful guy turned up at 4:30pm and he discovered that the problem was being caused by one of the accelerators in our boiler. #1 then called the plumber and the electrician gave him all the info, and the plumber promised to come by late morning today. Until then, we have hot water but no central heating. Thankfully, we have a portable oil-filled radiator that is now in our study, and the neighbours have lent us a bigger one that is in the living room. We think that this, plus the speed at which both electrician and plumber have responded is definitely something to be thankful for!

I am also personally thankful for all the yummy food I get. Here are a couple of ssamples of my dinners,. The first is kibble plus some yummy hamburger, rice and vegetables cooked up by #1:

The second is my very favourite, fish, rice and vegetables with kibble!

Last but not least, we are all thankful that we are getting some sunpuddles at the moment!

Tama-Chan Tuesday

Tama-Chan; Today, we are all focusing our POTP in the direction of our big bro, Vidock, so that everything goes smoothly with his procedure.  #1 also needs our attention as she is so worried about him.

Part of looking after #1 of course is to look as sweet and cute as possible, and you know that I am rather good at that, don't you?

And you know, it's the little things that count, like helping #1 with her morning ablutions:

Here is a head dangle for you:

We'll keep you posted on The Big V.

STOP PRESS!!!! We received a call from the veterinary surgeon who operated on the Big V. Everything went well and he is back on his feet. Now for the recovery. He will be sore for a few days.
