Foundation Friday!

: Neigh everyone! It's been a wile. Guess what? I started going to school! Ms. S decided that the time was right to teach me the foundations of good manners and how to behave like a gentlehorse. We started on Wednesday and I did so well that even she was surprised! And then, when #1 came to visit yesterday evening with her guests, I had another session so she could see.

Here I am in the classring, ready to start:

You noticed the tarpaulin on the ground? We horses tend to be frightened of such things, and it is very important to learn not to be.

Ms. A taught me how to trot around, slow to a walk, and change directions, all by voice:

Just look at the audience I had!

Mr. E was there too and watching me closely:

Towards the end of the lesson, Ms. S got out this lasso-like thing and started twirling it around me and over my head. That kind of thing is pretty frightening to us horses at first. I was a bit anxious initially...

... but I quickly understood that there was no need to worry:

Ms. S told #1 that I was really intelligent, alert and a quick learner and that even though she knows me, she was surprised at how quickly I progressed!!!

Afterwards, I got TWO carrots!!!!!

Oh, and as I am in a very generous mood today, here is a flying ears photo of Tommy for this Friday!

  1. This is SO cool, Vidock! #1 must be beaming with pride over you learning so quickly. We agree that that lasso-thingy looks scary and it looks suspiciously like a harness to us. We're impressed you didn't go flat-cat! We see many more carrots in your future! Please give a loving nosebump to #1 on our behalf.
    Happy weekend,

  2. Wow Vidock. Going to school must be really exciting. TWO carrots!! I thunk you can get more from #1 if you play your cards right!

  3. Now that you know there are carrots involved, you will enjoy your training more. Walking on those tarps is scary for little guys such as myself too.

  4. You are very quick at learning things Vidock - make sure you get two carrots everytime you learn something new.
Tommy we love those flying ears of yours - what a great action shot of you.
Luv Hannah and Lucy xx xx

  5. We admire your handsomeness Vidock!!
Nice flying ears there Tommy! Was it a breezy day?

  6. Congratulations Vidock on your first day of school. We know you already have manners, but school will be fun any how

  7. sure to ask for THREE carrots next time. There's no harm in refusing to co-operate unless the stakes are raised. Teehee.

Tommy you are going to fly away one of these windy days! :)
