Still Nursing SEIturday

Sei-Chan: We are posting a little later than usual because we were waiting for the doctor to come by and take a good look at #1's knee as it has now been a week since her injury. But since the doctor is running late, we are posting anyway...

It has been a long week for her, full of uncertainty and too much time doing nothing other than "resting." of course, I have been at my post constantly, giving her all the support and purrs in the world. She says it has really helped.

I do this either on my own:

or with little Genji who, I must say, has really been pulling his weight!

I know that a little cuteness never fails to help, so I have been pulling out all the stops:

Although all that tummy exposure does make me feel a little shy...

I did take a little time out to investigate that wonderful gift package we received:

And even had to stand my ground against Tama-Chan when it came to claiming a toy!

You know how much we hate to see #1 leave us, but this time, we are crossing all our paws that she will make it to Belgium next week for the big heavy horse race, and will have a great time. 

Vidock and Violette Vendredi

Violette: She came! SHE CAME!!! #1 came to see us yesterday! And Tommy came too! Ms. S picked them up at home and brought them right over. She then came to my field to get me and bring me to my #1. #1 gave me a huge hug and told me how much she had missed me. She then brushed me all over, raising quite a cloud of dust. We thought we had photos but #1 had not given adequate instructions to Ms. S as to how to use her camera and we ended up with no pics! Still, #1 took some. Here I am, giving her my full attention, whilst Ms. S looks on:

After I got my brushing, I got my treat bucket and Ms' S gave me a full pedi. It would have been hard for #1 to do it and keep balanced.

Ms. S even let me graze a little as she took me back to my field:

Ms. S promised to bring #1 back again in a few days! We'll take more pics then.

Vidock: It was a double bonus to see both #1 and Ms. S. As you will remember, I was born at Ms. S's place and she raised me from tiny babyhood, so I am very fond of her.

I also got a great treat bucket:

And I am really well-mannered because I give the bucket back when I'm done!

And #1 even came into the field so we could have a cuddle:

Tama and Tommy's Thankful Thursday!

Tama-Chan: Yes, it's me again! One can never have too much Tama-Chan, right? We had a really nice surprise yesterday when an envelope arrived in the mail from across the big water. We had won the Blogoversary draw at Random Felines and it was our prize!

I was the first one at the scene when #1 opened it:

It was full of great stuff. There were lots of toys, the latest Winnie's Wish Summer FUNdraiser specials from Andrea, plus some new kinds of Temptations, and even some treats for Tommy!

I immediately picked out my favourite toy:

And made it mine, mine, MINE!

My sister Sei-Chan came to investigate but I hung on to it!

And this morning, I was back to playing with it!

Tom: As Tama-Chan mentioned, I got some Beggin' Strips. I LOVE Beggin' Strips! THANKS!!!

And I also got a new stuffie from #1. His name is Honker...

Yes, I am still wearing the T-Sirt. #1 is saying that, at this rate, I am going to be wearing T-Shirts for the rest of my life...

Almost Whinny-Less Wednesday!

Hi Everyone, Violette here! I miss my #1..... She may be coming to see me and the Big V tomorrow. Ms. S has said she would drive her over. In the meantime, look at some of the stuff Ms. S brought back for #1 from Picardy as a thank you for looking after all of Vidock's family last week!

Tama-Chan Tuesday

Tama-Chan: Since so many of you asked, here is an update on #1. She had both ultra-sounds and x-rays yesterday. The ultra-sound showed that there is in fact nothing wrong with her tendon (phew!) but that there is still some knee-joint effusion. The knee cap also seems fine. The x-ray, however, showed a hairline fracture of the tibial plateau. She will be talking with and seeing her GP again over the next couple of days but it doesn't look like there is anything much to be done, other than let t heal. She is walking better and feeing more comfortable every day. Paws crossed that she will be well enough to go off to her big heavy horse event in Belgium next week.

I have of course been very busy, keeping her company in bed...

I have also been keeping watch on the outside to make sure there are no unwanted intruders:

Manly Monday

Tom: It is still sunny and lovely here and we are all continuing to look after #1 (although she says she does not include me opening up my abscess wound up again yesterday in the "helping" category...). Various friends have been taking me out for longer runs but #1 has positioned two chairs strategically, one in the front of the house and one at the back. She hobbles to the chair with Chuck-it equipment in hand and we can still play ball (by the way, she says to tell you that she continues to feel better).

Life is good:

Genji: Do I need to emphasise again that there is nothing manlier than snuggling with your #1 when she is not feeing 100%?

Guess what? #1 got a belated birthday present of  purple half-chaps and purple gloves for riding Violette. They are so cool I had to check them out!

Healing Snuggles on Sunday

Tama-Chan: Hello Dear Friends. Well, we wanted #1 to be home and she is most definitely home at the moment, although not in the way we would have liked.Thank you, everyone, for the very nice supportive comments and purrs. She says it feels a tiny bit better this morning, maybe a little less swollen.

In the meantime, we have put a round-the-clock nursing roster in place.
