This blog was started in June 2008 by a young sorrel Abyssinian cat called Sen-Chan and a slightly younger English Springer Spaniel called Tommy. The years that followed were full of hellos and goodbyes. Some, like Sen-Chan and Yuu-Chan, were lost very young. Other Abys like Sei-Chan, Bibi, and Genji stayed with us for quite a few years. But they too have gone now, as has Tommy. In the interim, several Percheron horses joined the family, starting with Vidock in 2010, Violette in 2012, and then Hotesse and Heloise in 2020. They contribute to the blog regularly. But the mainstays are Ollie, also an English Springer Spaniel, Tama, an Abyssinian queen who has been with us since late 2008, and Benkei (Benny), a little ruffian who joined us in 2021, followed by Momo in 2022, and another Aby boy, Ryū, in 2023.. We live in rural France, in a region called the Perche, which is famous for its heavy horses.
Ollie: The weather has been a little bit wild this week, and today it is very windy. I am thankful that #1 and I have managed to keep up with our walks, even if they have been shorter than usual.
Java Bean: "Ayyy, that is a beautiful street for a walk! So much to see and sniff! It looks like the kind of place Mama and Dada used to like to ride their bikes, too!"
Ollie, our temps have dropped quite a bit, so outside activities take on a different timbre than they did just a handful of days ago. Someone...*ahem* is now wearing a hat to keep her ears warm.
We would love to walk there with you, Ollie! Our backroad walking spot kind of looks very similar, but with pouring rain the past few days we have not gone there...
we had a wild storm last night... it looks strange now here... all decorations garden furnitures and stuff is on the street...
ReplyDeleteThe wind is taking down all of your beautiful leaves, Ollie! We have had too many windy days here too.
ReplyDeleteI’m glad you are having good walks, even if a little shorter than normal. Linda
