Wednesday Whinnies

Violette: Pretty Neighs, EveryFriend! I have some fun stuff to share with you today. As you know, #1 has now been riding me for about three months and we have both been enjoying that a lot. But that was not the end of my basic schooling! The next step is driving. I shall be learning to pull a vehicle and so will be able to take a bunch of people out for fun times rather than just one on my back.

The first step towards "learning to drive" is something called the long reins, and so #1 and I started out together, along with our teacher, Mr. L:

#1 says I was a really good girl and so quick to learn!

And here I am afterwards, waiting for my treat bucket:

Vidock: Studly Neighs, Pals! #1 tells me that she is going to be riding me again tomorrow or the next day. I can't wait! In the meantime, Dr. R came over to give me my annual shots and check-up. Dr. R has seen so many badly cared-for Percherons that he ended up believing that there was no such thing as a truly healthy and beautiful Percheron. But then he met Violette, and a couple of days ago, he met me!

I think he has changed his mind!

Now I am told that, on some blogs, Wednesday is a day for "Whiskers" so I decided to submit this photo under the title of "Whiskery Whinnies":

Oh, and pink nose alert too...

  3. We don't know if she realizes it, but every picture of #1 working with Violette she has the biggest smile on her face. We are glad you both were able to put a smile on the vets face too. Our mommy wants to give Big V a big kiss on his pink nose too.

  5. Since you two are the only Pencerons we know, we have always thought every Penceron would be well- cared for. We know you both made the vet's day as you are oth beautiful and well- mannered and clever.

  6. Horses must be very different from us felines if you enjoy *shudder* working! But someone's got to, and you do it so well .And what a compliment from the vet! Splendid.

  8. How sad that not every Percheron gets the same love and care that you two do.

  9. Vidock, avec la mèche sur le côté, la tache rose et les moustaches frémissantes ... tu as l'air d'un petit "voyou".
Quant à Mlle Violette, toujours aussi gentille, voulant faire plaisir. Une parfaite "petite" jument.

  11. Violette you are turning into such a beautiful percheron! We bet the vet wsa thrilled to see how well cared for both you and Vidock are. Vidock , your chin whiskers are mere "peach fuzz" ...they will need to grow a bit more to count as you are just a teen!! :p Heeheehee!

  12. Cool whiskers, Vidock. And of course, the doctor would have to find you two to be in such excellent condition - you have the best caregiver ever.

  15. Your#1 would allow you to be nothing but well cared for and healthy!!! It's so very sad to think of the numbers of horses that aren't, if the vet could make such a statement. Is it because they are workers and just like another piece of farm equipment to their owners or do certain out dated ideas relating to their needs and care still exist? Bless you both, beautiful horse friends.
