Violette: Pretty Neighs everyone! It feels like ages since I last neighed with you! You see, I share a large field with lots of other horses, all Percherons, and because it has been so muddy, #1 hasn't been able to get close to me. So, she spoke with Ms. C and, earlier this week, I was brought out of the field one day and put in the box so #1 and I could have some quality time together. I have to tell you that I have come to the conclusion that I don't really like to be cooped up in a box much, but this was nice because #1 spent time brushing me and that always feels good (it wasn't the best thing for her sciatica, though...). Anyway, here I am:
As you can see, I have my fluffy winter coat on, and I am darker in colouring in the winter than in the summer.
I have to confess that I wasnt always well-behaved. I love being brushed and getting cuddles from #1. But! There were ponies and donkeys in the box next door and I don't like it when anyone else gets too close to my #1. She is MINE!!!
And here I am back out in the field:
Vidock: Studly Neighs! I have a new headcollar (halter). Don't you think it's quite elegant?
#1 had bought it for me in Canada last summer.
I had a fun visit with my floppy-eared bro, Tommy, the other day!
He gave me all the Poupounette Central news. I always come up to the barrier when #1 comes to visit, so we can snuggle!
And unlike my weird sister, Violette, I like going back into my warm and dry box in the evening!
So what does 'not being well behaved' mean ....? Does it mean the mighty horsey hoof ? Are girl horses as sneaky as girlcats?
ReplyDeleteAnd that is one very handsome halter.....
Does Violette Have a shelter at night too? We love the pics. x
ReplyDeleteNice to see you neighing at us! And gotta love a floofy horse!

We came by to catch up and are pleased we got to see all of you as we scrolled down the posts. You're all looking good. Hope #1's sciatica starts doing better. Wait, we mean we hope #1 starts doing better, not her sciatica. We want that to go away!
ReplyDeleteLooking great you two! I can see where the idea of a warm box is inviting! I wouldn't want to be out in the chilly air, even if I did have my winter coat on, lol
ReplyDeleteWe think your new halter is very elegant. And all sisters are weird, Vidock. That's not a bad thing!
ReplyDeletePurrs,
Ms. C, Abby Normal, Stygia & Styx

It looks like you two had a really nice visit with #1 and Tom - I always enjoy seeing you both!
ReplyDeleteViolette, did you see Vidock has your color on? His head collar? You are both beautiful and we LOVE seeing you get brushies and snuggles with #1 and Tommy.
ReplyDeleteWow, Vidock, beautiful harness!! Before we even read that it was new our eyes zero'd in on it and we were thinking how handsome you look!! And Violette, what a beauty you are!! But are you serious about preferring to be out in the mud and not in where it is warm, dry and cozy?? Ooo, not us...all 5 of us just love to sleep near the fireplace or on the couch or if we can, the bed!!! But the mudd?? Nooooo!! How do you do it? Do you have special shoes for that? Doesn't the rain make you cold? You are so big and strong and brave!!! We humble little cats and dogs bow before you both oh great wise and wonderful equines!! We would send headbutts, but we have to admit that we're just a bit afraid of you so we will blow you purrs from afar!! And tailwags, too!! Tiny, Ellwood, Ginger, Elioth and Chouchou
ReplyDeleteMe and Mom think your HeadCollar look Fantastic !

ReplyDeleteAnd Vidock, there's no figuring them girls out. Sheesh!
Wally & Ernie
We prefer warm and cozy, not outside and muddy. But Violette, if that is what you want, you should get it.
ReplyDeletemowzers, mommy had an Appaloosa Quarter Horse when she was growing up and he'd get playful & nippy she sez. Do you get ornery too?
ReplyDeleteThat's one muddy paddock you gots there...!
Oh Violette, me knows exactly how yous feels! Me hates it when strange animals gets near my Mommy! And Vidock, that halter is the cat's meow!
ReplyDeleteKisses
Nellie
Fenris gets darker in the winter too. His coat is more reddish brown in winter and turns blond in the summer.
ReplyDeleteFrankly the weather we have been having we just want to be inside.
Vidock, we think you are very ManHorsely and we love your handsome furs! Girlhorses can be so silly sometimes, just like girl cats.
ReplyDeleteWe think we would prefer a warm stall over a muddy hill anytime...you are the smart one!
