#1 here. One year ago today, we
posted joyfully in celebration of Yuu-Chan's first birthday. Less than four months later, he was gone, carried away by FeLV. He would have been two years old today. Just two. Still so young. I still cannot digest the fact that he is gone, and not a day goes by without my thinking of him and missing him. He was so very special and made himself a place in the deepest recesses of my heart. I treasure every single moment I spent with him and so, to honour his memory, here are a few photos of his short life.

And then was gone...
Happy Birthday from all of us, sweet Yuu-Yuu. We will never forget you.
That is so sad. Happy birthday Yuu-Chan RIP.
ReplyDeleteI still can't believe that a kitty as special and with such a large personality as Yuu-Chan could be gone just like that. He was such an amazing kitty that he even left an impression those who did not know him that long and who lived thousands of miles away, like me. Purrs to you on this bittersweet day, and I hope that overall, it sweeter.
ReplyDeleteOh #1, we remember your special Yuu-Chan too. What a sweety, and what a wonderful tribute on this special day.
ReplyDeleteSending lotsaluv to you and your precious animals.

Beautiful pictures of such a beautiful boy. A wonderful way to remember him on his 2nd birthday. We still love him and miss seeing him on the blog, so can only imagine how much you miss him. We are so sorry it wasn't possible for him to live longer with his FeLV. Mom decided to have me vaccinated for FeLV after he died, eve though I really never contact other cats, just to be safe.
ReplyDeleteMay your memories of his sweet an energetic character bring some smiles to you today.
What a beautiful boy he was and always will be. I cried when I read this post because I so understand your loss and pain. It seems especially cruel to lose him so young. I am sending love and hugs from England.

ReplyDeleteYuu-Chan we hope you are playing with our sweet Lewis wherever you now find yourself :) We think the both of you would make a wonderfully , special pair.
ReplyDelete#1, we understand your loss completely and send our love.At times we believe we have created the biggest lie in saying Lewis is gone.It is that difficult to believe. We still ache for him so much.
Yuu-Chan what a beautiful boy you were!
#1, you don't have to include the entire gang for the Meow Meow Meme. It's meant for the cats but we threw in the pups for fun. That might make it easier :)You also don't need to include pics, it's just that LP is a very visual person and has to "see" everything :)
the critters in The Cottage
We will never forget him either.
ReplyDeleteA beautiful tribute to a beautiful young cat.
ReplyDeleteWe are still so sad about Yuu-Chan having to go, but we know that even though he wasn't here long he touched so many of us, and he had a wonderful, happy, special live where he was very loved while he was here. We miss him too and we will never forget him.

With a bowed head and respectful purrs to Yuu-chan. We remember reading about his birthday and then the horror that followed - it was so very sad and Äiti cried lots.
ReplyDeleteYou have some very, very wonderful photos of Yuu-chan that just have to be comforting to you as you miss your sweet boy. We remember how ill he was and how much you did to make him well again. And we know that he knows that too. Happy Birthday, little Yuu-Chan, you will always be missed and loved by us too.

Happy birthday Yuu. You were a very special kitty and so loving to everyone.
ReplyDeleteI was delighted to know him - he was truly special, with the most joyous energy and engaging personality. Plus he looked soooo cute and bouncy...it was hard to take your eyes from him if he was playing in the room. RIP to Yuu-chan, one of the few cats this severely-allergic-to-cats writer could NOT resist getting close to.
ReplyDelete"ACHOO!" A memorial sneeze (it was worth it)...and love from PEI
Such a sweet look back at his short life.
ReplyDeleteWe think of Yuu Chan from time to time. He was such a sweet boy. We know he will always have a special place in your heart.
ReplyDeleteWe cant believe ot is already a year. What wonderful memories, sending hugs and purrs over to you all.
ReplyDeleteWhere did our comment go? Goodness!
ReplyDeleteWe never met Yuu-Chan when he was with us. We learned to love him through his mothers love for him and her grief at his loss. When she spoke of him, his mum made us feel his love and specialness. When we saw the notice of his passing and mum stopped by to pay respects, she strongly felt Yuu was present. She always says that Yuu gave us the gift of knowing his family. We know that God will take very good care of Yuu for #1 until she can be with him again. Those who are remembered never really die. We say his name with love
and admiration.
We are just catching up on visiting and we are so sorry we missed Yuu-Chan's birthday celebration...so bittersweet.
ReplyDeleteSending you soft purrrs.
Cory and family
So many good memories of a precious little life...
ReplyDeleteFor us, a year has passed quickly...for you who lived and loved with Yuu-Chan, we are sure you still see him in your mind, in his favorite places. He would smile to think of that we think...
