Tomaso: With #1 away, we can't do anything too sophisticated with our posts, so we will just do single shots of each of us today.

Some Snuggles on Sunday

Tama-Chan: Well, what a to do! Poor #1 stuck over in England again. It looks like she probably won't be able to get home on Wednesday so we are crossing paws for Thursday. And did you hear there was a fire in the Channel Tunnel yesterday? She went through it on Friday! We really think she needs to stay home...

So, let me see what I have for you in terms of snuggle pics today... Here are Tommy and Sei-Chan:

Sorry Sight SEIturday

Sei-Chan: We got a report from #1 last night. She made it to her destination safely but, as she was pulling into the garage where the warranty repairs are going to be done, the proximity sensors did not pick up a large bumper-height metal contraption. The result was this:

Other than the fact that it's going to cost a lot of money to repair (the car will need a new bumper for a start), there is also a chance they won't be able to complete the repairs by Tuesday and that she will therefore not be able to return to us on Wednesday. Noooooooooo! Poor #1 seems to suffer from bad car juju so often when she goes to England. Maybe she should stop going...

In the interim, I am crossing my paws:

Violette's Family Friday

Violette: As you know, that "Big V" guy often features members of his family on the blog. It is lovely to see although it also makes me a little bit sad. But no longer! Today is going to be my Family Friday!

But first let me start with ME! Here I am yesterday, coming over to say hello to #1 and get some treats. The weather was truly appalling yesterday, with driving rain and strong winds, and I was so glad when I saw #1's car turn into the lane! I got extra carrots and apples, as she told me she wouldn't be able to come and see me for a few days.

Anyway, let me move on to today's subject. LOOK! Does she look familiar?

 

Coming over to #1 for treats is my Mama, Hôtesse de L'Aumone! Isn't she beautiful?

 

And #1 says she is just as gentle as I am when she takes apple slices from her hand!

 

It seems that my breeder put her back in the field where I used to live last weekend. But even more exciting was the fact that my Mama was not alone. She had a foal with her, a little boy (colt) who is my half-brother. He is jet black (and he will stay black!)

 

He is only six months old. He was a little bit shy at first but he quickly warmed up to #1 and he loves cuddles!

 

And #1 says she knows his daddy too. Look how handsome big daddy is:

 

The daddy's name is Titus and he is a champion stallion, just like my own daddy, Navarro.

Anyway, #1 has decided that she will try to find a home for the little guy, as she knows only too well the level of care and attention my breeders bring to their foals... She has already started contacting some people she knows. We are crossing hooves that she can find him a good home, and he can grow up in a good environment to be a magnificent horse.

As you can see, both he and my Mama were eager to make friend sith Tommy!

Thankful Thursday

Tama-Chan: Yes, it's me again! I felt that, as Queen of this house, it was up to me to send gracious thanks for something wonderful that happened to us this week.

A couple of days ago, #1 found an unexpected package in our mailbox. On closer investigation, it turned out to be from Singapore where our friends the Amigos (Bujang, Akira, Tanaka and Popps) reside with their #1, called San. It had been mailed on December 8th but, for some obscure reason, this airmail package took over a month to get to us. As a result, we have decided that post-Christmas presents are possibly even better than Christmas ones!

We had already received some fabulous Christmas gifts from The Amigos the previous Christmas but they totally outdid themselves this year! Sei-Chan and I were our usual timid themselves, but the boys eagerly went to investigate.

On opening the box, they immediately found these:

 

 

Freez-dried treats for both us and Tommy, a ball for Tommy and some very cute toys for us! There was even a spotless ladubug!

 

Da Beebs was the first to check it all out:

 

Genji wasn't too far behind...

Aside from the great toys and treats, there was also a fabulous array of collars!

 

I have decided that, as Queen, I shall have this one. It has a sphynx charm on it!

 

I have a feeling my Beebs may lay claim to the cute yellow one with the bees (Bees as in Beebs, you see. Hehehe). As for Da Genj, he hasn't made up his mind yet:

And that was not all! #1 got an absolutely fabulous gift too. You see, San did not know what she might sent for the Vs, so she sent #1 a beautiful violet-coloured scarf:

 

We never cease to be amazed by the kindness that comes our way from our far away friends. Thank you San, and all the Amigos.

They are a really fun and interesting bunch of kitties and San looks after all with great love and attention. Their latest addition, Popps, was until recently a semi-feral "community cat" who was adopted by the family after she was injured in a  fight.

Wishful Wednesday

Da Beebs: We at Poupounette Central know that we are the most fortunate of kitties to have such a good and loving home, everything we need and more. As for me in particular? I was born here, raised by my Mama Tama and #1, and have always had everything I could wish for. But there are many cats out there who are not as lucky. Our dear friend Chrystal over at Daily Dose of Dogs (aka Cats With Your Coffee) runs a small private rescue called Winnie's Wish. She has done an amazing job over the years rescuing some very, very sad kitties and woofies and bringing them back to health.

In order to provide the best accommodations possible for a growing number of cats, she and her husband built a small cat house a few years ago. Now that cat house desperately needs to be expanded and this is where you come in. Chrystal has just launched the Winnie's Wish Building Fundraiser and needs our help to make it happen. The whole thing got off to an amazing start but we really need to keep up the momentum and reach our goal. You can find the donation page at Go Fund Me HERE. Every little bit will help and we know that, in this case, every cent contributed will go to the building fund.

Tama-Chan Tuesday

Tama-Chan: It would appear that Sunday's sunpuddles were just for Sunday and we are back to fairly unpleasant weather, with strong winds too. Ah well... What can a girl do but dangle, I ask you?

 

I am somewhat surprised to be able to announce that the Christmas decorations have been taken down although they have not all been put away yet. I seem to remember that this did not happen until almost the end of January last year, so it is an improvement! We have also had to turn in our Christmas collars. #1 is still pondering whether she should keep the two-bell special on mine. In the interim, I do have a new collar as the previous one had grown rather ratty. What do you think?
