Sunday Surprises!

Hello, once again, from #1!It is Sunday and I am heading off to my get-together with....the Mums from Mickie's Musings and Team Tabby!!! It is always such a pleasure to meet other bloggers. More tales from that tomorrow, I hope.

So, yesterday, I set out to visit lots and lots of gorgeous Percherons, and I did! But first, I need to tell you about some other friends I made along the way.

Please take a look at this:

Are they not the most totally awesome kitty toes you have ever seen? They belong to a very handsome boy by the name of Edward (Eddie to his friends), seen below with his young mistress, Ms. C (who, by the way is capable of driving a hitch of six Percherons, if you please!)

I also met these gorgeous little girls:

They are 12-week old Australian Cattle Dog pups and, believe me, had we been on the other side of the Atlantic, I am not at all sure I would have made it home without one...

And staying in the spirit of babies, take a look at these sweeties:

 (with Mama)

This next little one stuck to me like glue the whole time I was in the field with her. Her name is FUSION. Another count of "good job I live an ocean away...

OK.. just a couple more. Here are the two dads to that bunch of foals:

Domino, sire of the top three foals

And Renegade, sire of little Fusion

I did say lots of gorgeous Percherons, didn't I?

Nova-Scotia Tidings!

#1 here. As Sei-Chan (or rather "Thei-Chan") so rightly predicted, there is a bit of a blog hijack going on as I am in Nova Scotia, visiting Percheron breeders here.

I left Prince Edward Island yesterday morning via the Confederation Bridge:

This marvel of engineering is the longest bridge to cross icy waters in the world. It is 12.9km (that's 8 miles) long and links the Island to New Brunswick. Construction took four years and cost over C$1 billion.

I was heading for the Annapolis Valley, a beautiful part of Nova Scotia with a rich history and some of the best breeders of Percherons in the Maritimes. My first stop was at Cambridge Percherons, owned by David Logie who also happens to be President of the Canadian Percheron Association. I won't bore you with a lot of horse talk but here are a couple of photos.

Please meet King's Audry, who travelled to Nova Scotia from the American Midwest in February:

And this handsome guy is called King. He and Audry have the same sire (father), a famous stallion called Pleasant View King

I am visiting two more breeders today so the possibility of more photos is high. And then, on Sunday, I am getting together with a couple of mystery blogging friends! Can you guess who they might be?

I shall leave you with some photos fresh in from Poupounette Central of some window whiffies by...

Tama:

Genji:

And Da Beebs (safely inside the mosquito netting!):

PS: You all know how traumatic it is when Da Beebs gets out on one of his Houbibi jaunts. Well, imagine what happened with our dear Aby friend Isis (she was our Sen-Chan's very special girl) who got out and stayed out for almost two weeks! Yesterday, she finally came home and you can imagine the relief of her mum, Jacquie. Welcome home, Isis!
Isis doesn't blog anymore but she can be found on FaceBook at Lovelynx Abyssinians.

Friday Fun

Da Beebs: So, there was I, being good, as I always am...

When some kitty leapt onto the bed, ready to make trouble...

Genji: Trouble? ME?????? I was just looking for a bit of FUN!

In fact, as you can see from this photo taken when Ms. S came to visit us, I am all FUN! (never mind the tongue sticking out...)

Da Beebs: I on the other hand, am a true lover at heart!

This kind of photo makes #1 wonder even more about how feral I become once I get out of the door...

Tommy Thursday (And Thei-Chan too!)

Tom: I have been on somewhat reduced activity these past few days as I had a bit of a limp at the end of last week and we are always quick with the "R" reaction (Rimadyl and Rest) when that happens. That, of course, by no means results in my losing hope...

I'm ready, Ms. R!

What do you mean, NOT NOW?????

Look! The farmer has finally cut the hay and the field is ours!

But she said that the farmer had to bale the hay first and that, by that time, I would probably be OK to play. Sigh...

Thei-Chan: Remember me? I have a bad feeling about SEIturday, you know. #1 is going off on Friday to see lots of big horses in Nova Scotia and, well, you can guess what's going to happen, can't you?

So, to tide you over, here is a nice shot of me by the window in Ms. R's room:

And an archive shot for good measure. This one is from about a year ago. Couldn't resist the pink pawpads...

Wednesday Whinnies

Violette: Pretty Neighs, Everyone! It has been pretty hot in our neck of the woods lately and we horses find the flies very annoying. Fortunately, we have tails that do a pretty good job of swatting, especially if we stand in pairs, tail to head! This is not, however, a luxury that most of our North American cousins have as they cut off their tails soon after they are born, It's supposed to make their rumps look prettier, but we think it's just plain wrong. Caudectomies (cutting off the tail) have been completely forbidden for horses in France (and most of the rest of Europe) since 1996.

Ms. N has been taking photos of us to send #1 so I have a couple to share with you today:

#1 has also written to tell me that she has been doing some shopping. This is what she just bought to wear when she is riding me at public events:

She says we are going to make quite a pair!

Vidock: Studly Neighs, Everyone! Thanks for the nice comments about my photo on Manly Monday. Needless to say, I glow from the inside!

And don't you think I have a nice smile?

A little tail swish photo for you:

Tama-Chan Tuesday

Tama-Chan: Well, Dear Friends, I am happy to say that, between Ms. L and Ms. S, I do have a fairly good supply of photos for you this week!

Whilst #1 is away, it is my most important duty to keep her desk chair properly cared for and warmed for her!

Of course, should anyone like to give me a chin scratch whilst I am there, they are always welcome!

When Ms S came to visit us several times at the weekend, we remembered that she knows the treat drill really well, so we all took up our positions in #1's bedroom:

All of us!!!

And here is one from earlier in the week, of me in the run:

A special thank you, by the way, for all the nice comments about our use of archive photos. We're glad you're enjoying them. We are certainly enjoying sharing them with you. And here, as a special treat, is the first photo that #1 ever saw of me, the one that made her think she had to have me, even if she had to go kidnap me!

Manly Monday!

The Beebs: Since Ms. L came to visit us late last week and brought her camera, we actually have some manly photos to share with you!

The best photos, needless to say are of me, The Beebster!

Looking serious:

Looking pensive...

And yes, I am quite aware that that is NOT my Tommy!

Butt-checking with The Genje:

And here is a close-up of our Shining Blue Prince!

Don't you think he looks up to no good?

Here is our Tommy with one his toys:

And being his usual Tommy self!

And Ms. N sent us this shot of the Big V, Vidock:

Don't you think he seems to be gleaming in the sun?

Beebsteroo over and out!

PS: Spot the Super-Manly Yawn!!!!
