Wild Boys on Wednesday (not for the faint of heart!)

Bibi-Chan: Now, Gentle Readers... you know us a little and know that we are real boys at heart, with a love of wrestling and hunting... Here we are, at standoff point at some point a couple of days ago. The photo is blurred because of the speed of the action.

You also know by now that I, the Beebs, am a mighty hunter. So, if you are squeamish, this would be a good time to look away, because I caught another silly birdie!

Now my little brother, Gen-Chan, would like to think he is also a mighty hunter, but he is as yet inexperienced, so the best he can do is "borrow" my catches:

Sad to say, #1 was less than impressed by our joint prowess. She was really sorry the little creature did not survive his ordeal, and has sworn she is going to block off any and all possible entrance points into the run by silly birds. Ah well, it was fun as long as it lasted...

  1. We too are sorry for the little birdie, but we are cats and we cannot help ourselves. We like to chase birdies and mousies.
We do not have a run, but sometimes a mouse gets in our house.

  2. I'm all for catching your own food, but sometimes you kitties can be quite cruel to your prey, so I understand why #1 wants to discourage this behavior.

  3. That's quite a mess of feathers you brought into the house there, Beebs. We understand why #1 might have been less than thrilled with the outcome, even though you were just following your mighty hunting instincts.

  4. Boys will be boys, we say. But now #1 has to clean up the mess!

  6. What a bird brained birdie - hasn't he noticed that there are cats living there? Well done Beebs - put another notch on your hunting stick.

  11. We feel badly for the silly birds too, but we also understand. The dumb birds here keep flying into our big windows and if we are lucky, we find them stunned. We usually just poke them around, we seem to like the flavor of rabbit better:(

  13. Boys will always be boys...

  15. We are cats and it is part of our very nature. Our mum hates to see any animal injured or killed so we understand your #1's dismay. We have a screened in catio and we have virtually destroyed the screening trying to catch passing birdies. Cats will always be cats.

  16. We feel bad for the birdie too, but it was kind of silly for it to enter your place.. and you were just being cats, and being cats is not a bad thing!

  20. You are a mighty hunter. I rarely catch birds, I prefer mice. Eric was the bird catcher, and if he got one he would not give it up.

  21. Uh oh! The run is turning into a death chamber for unsuspecting birds! Fun for you boys but not so fun for the little birdies! Ack. Life!
