Violette: Pretty Neighs, Everyone! It has been pretty hot in our neck of the woods lately and we horses find the flies very annoying. Fortunately, we have tails that do a pretty good job of swatting, especially if we stand in pairs, tail to head! This is not, however, a luxury that most of our North American cousins have as they cut off their tails soon after they are born, It's supposed to make their rumps look prettier, but we think it's just plain wrong. Caudectomies (cutting off the tail) have been completely forbidden for horses in France (and most of the rest of Europe) since 1996.
Ms. N has been taking photos of us to send #1 so I have a couple to share with you today:
#1 has also written to tell me that she has been doing some shopping. This is what she just bought to wear when she is riding me at public events:
She says we are going to make quite a pair!
Vidock: Studly Neighs, Everyone! Thanks for the nice comments about my photo on Manly Monday. Needless to say, I glow from the inside!
And don't you think I have a nice smile?
A little tail swish photo for you:
