Remembering Tommy

#1 here. Today is my birthday, but more importantly, it was also Tommy's birthday. Those 11 birthdays he and I shared were among the happiest of my life, and I still miss him each and every day. So today, I would like to look back at those birthdays, year by year.

August 2008 - 1st Birthday

August 2009 - 2nd Birthday

August 2010 - 3rd Birthday

August 2011 - 4th Birthday

August 2012 - 5th Birthday

August 2013 - 6th Birthday

August 2014 - 7th Birthday

August 2015 - 8th Birthday

August 2016 - 9th Birthday

August 2017 - 10th Birthday

August 2018 - 11th Birthday

The last few years of his life, we got into the habit of going up to the Normandy Coast and spending our birthday with Tommy's furry family and his breeders. On the litter 's birthday, we would go to the beach. The weather was always glorious. They were such special times. In the last shot above, Tommy is on the far right, next to his niece, and two of his sisters are on the left.

Tama-Chan Tuesday

Tama-Chan: So, she's gone again. #1 left early this morning, after making sure I had everything I needed. And I have to say that Mr. G looks after me very well. So, I shall nap the days away awaiting her return.

These days, that little Fluff Puff Momo often hangs out with us when #1 is working. He is no trouble at all, so I don't mind.

I have continued to enjoy my sunny spot in the kitchen:

Also the chair in the kitchen:

And even the little hammock in the living room.

Variety is the spice of life! But I never forget my primary task of helping #1 at the computer.

Our posting and commenting will probably be intermittent over the next few days. #1 will be in England until next Monday but then comes back with a friend from Canada who will be here until the following Thursday. We'll do the best we can.

Momo's Manly Monday

Momo-Chan: Oops! I had almost forgotten that it's Monday and I'm on duty. That's what happens when it's a three day weekend and you relax too much!

Here is my bro, Benny, showing off a pretty impressive dangle:

Ryū Da Dragon is sometime hard to locate but one of the places he can be found is the cat run!

As for Ollie, he is a really good boy and he knows he is not supposed to run outside, even when the gate is open, unless #1 tells him he can.

Snuggles on Sunday

Tama-Chan: We are a little late in posting today, but that's OK. Sundays are for relaxing, right? We have been snuggling a lot as #1 is leaving us again on Tuesday. We have given her official permission as she is celebrating a big birthday, and will do so in England with a couple of dear friends from university days. She will be back the following Monday, so it won't be a long trip, and Mr. G will of course be looking after us. Ollie will be staying with Ms. H whom he loves a lot!

So, snuggle pics. I have a couple of me and #1 to start with:

That little troublemaker, dragon Ryū, found time for a quick morning snuggle with #1:

Last week, #1 managed to get in some snuggles with Heloise and Philomena:

And she got this nice shot of Ms. C snuggling with young Phileas:

There was also a fun snuggle selfie with Isis, one of Ms. P's Grand Noir du Berry donkeys:

Back at Poupounette Central, Momo-Chan is definitely getting snugglier with #1:

Ollie has been snuggling with Benny. Can you even see Benny in that first photo?

And Momo too!

And that's our snuggle post for this Sunday. We hope you all have a lovely day filled with fun, treats and love.

Sei-Chan's Souvenir Saturday

Rainbow Sei: Hello again, Dear Friends! Two weeks in a row! I can already tell you that there won't be a post next Saturday as #1 will be away, but we do have a proper line-up for you today!

Let me start with the first among us, Ikkyu (1992-2007). This is a photo from 2003:

Next up is Sen-Chan (2008-2010) who was with us for too short a time. The photo is from 2008:

And little Yuu-Chan (2009-2010) who lived only 15 months but is forever in our hearts. This one is from 2010:

All the other photos are from 2015, so exactly ten years ago. I shall start with moi:

Here is Tommy with his buddy, Fernant who is also at the Bridge now. The two have a great time together, just as they did back then.

Da Beebs will always be Da Beebs, the one and only:

And little Genji, who loved his #1 so very much:

Our doyenne, Hotesse, who is kind and gentle with everyone she meets:

And of course little Trav who has found his family here at the Bridge:

By the way, we were there to welcome the little white kitty who was abandoned. He was so sad and scared, but he is better now. We let him know that his sister is in good hands.

Feline Friday

Ryū-Chan: I told #1 that I wasn't getting enough exposure on this blog. She said it would be easier if I stopped running around and getting into trouble. What trouble? I am a very good boy!

Hmmm... I wonder what's outside?

No, #1, I wasn't thinking about shenanigans...

Ummmm, no... I have no idea where that white fluff came from...

Momo-Chan: I am sorry, Madam, but this area is reserved for people with treats.

Benny: Zzzzzzzzzzz................

Queen Tama: Boys!!!

Thankful Thursday

#1 here. Today, we have a very thankful story to share with all of you. It started terribly. About ten days ago, we were coming back from our evening walk with Ollie when we noticed something strange at the entrance to one of the fields. We went to check it out and found two cat carriers, open and empty. Some awful person had dumped a couple of kitties and driven off. We looked around but couldn't find any cats. Next morning, as we set out, we found a beautiful white cat lying dead on the side of the lane, probably from the shock of losing his home. I disposed of it, and we started looking for the other one. Ollie found her very quickly, cowering in one of the hedges.

It was impossible to get anywhere near her. She was clearly traumatised. I alerted both sets of cat-loving neighbours and asked them to look out for the cat, who seemed to be a small female. I also placed one of the carriers in a more sheltered part of the hedgerow, and put dry food and water in there. Ollie spotted her one more time, but then she disappeared. I was beginning to lose hope when, yesterday evening, one of my neighbours called to say she was in their garden, sitting in front of their shed.

They had put out some dry food, which she inhaled. But they had no wet food as their cat doesn't eat it. So I went over with several sachets and we put out another bowl filled with food. She wouldn't let us closer than a few feet, but she was clearly starving, and tucked in quickly.

All of us at Poupounette Central are so thankful that the little kitty is safe. There are two potential homes for her, with either set of neighbours. It will take a little time for her to get over her fears, but we believe she will be OK.
