Winless Wednesday Whinnies

Violette: Pretty Neighs, Dear Friends. I am so sorry to disappoint you because I so appreciated all your support, but it seems that I did not please the judges at the show on Sunday. #1 was not holding her breath because she knows how weird these things can be. After all, Vidock was deemed a failure at the first big show he went to as well, and look at him now. Still, we always hope, don't we? I did have a glaring problem in that I am sorry to say I am still limping a little on my problem leg at the trot on softer surfaces, and this was on grass. But that aside, would you believe it if I told you the judges said I was "common-looking?" #1 was about ready to belt them one!

Here I am, being shown by Uncle E:

#1 had cleaned me up nicely and Uncle E had braided my mane and tail beautifully!

But you know what? I may not have gotten any prizes, but the public just loved me. I had people flocking around me all day! One nice lady with a cute little daughter told #1 that she had been all around, and that I was by far the friendliest and sweetest horse there!

At the end of the day, #1 also said this to me: she said that each and every time she has taken me out, I have behaved like a total lady, never ever disappointing her in how I interacted with people and  did what I was asked to do. Even though it was the first time I was shown, I stood perfectly still for the judges, with my feet perfectly positioned and I walked and trotted exactly as required, whereas other horses danced around and either dragged their handlers or were dragged by them. She told me I was absolutely perfect and she gave me a big kiss to thank me!

I do have something very exciting planned for my next big outing at the end of this month, so please stay tuned!

From your friend VIOLETTE.

  2. Clearly these judges are looking for the wrong things because it's clear you're a winner, Violette!

  4. Violette!
The judge is probably one of those peoples that is infatuated by the small and cute with big eyes and does not looks for the true qualities of beauty!
Wes knows yous is a princess - that's why Cinnamon wanted yous in her official portrait! Yous is drop dead gorgeous and so well mannered.
Yous KNOWS who loves yous! (and that is EVERYBODY)

  6. Violette, you're a "star" in my eyes. I can read the sweetness in your face. You're obviously very beautiful, and no one can tell me anything different. You are just stunning with your perfect braids. Everyone loved her and enjoyed petting her. Even the crowd could sense her beautiful, loving nature. "Common"? Not to anyone but the judges and they are cold, impersonable people! On that note, I wish everyone a lovely day!

  7. Violette you are from "common looking". You are a gorgeous horse. I loved your braids, tail and mane. Those judges don't know what they are talking about. As someone said they are cold and impersonable. Hope all of you have a wonderful day!!!

  10. You know, the best cat, dog or horse never wins on their first outing. As you become more well known and involved in the show community we think we will see you begin to win. The judging is ALWAYS political. They want you to " pay your dues" first.
We are sure that there is not a sweeter, better natured horse out there and certainly not one with more loving friends. How well you are loved....that's the real measure of a horse, isn't it?

  11. P.S. Common? The nerve! Tell that judge to put "common" up his arse!

  12. Common????? P{fffftttt!!! You will always be at the top of the list for us, Violette. You look so beautiful in all of your photos - nothing common about you at all.

  13. Oh Violette! You are not at all common looking, you are beautiful. Judging is so unpredictable. The judges have in their mind what they are looking for and two judges could be looking for entirely different things. Don't give up. The judges are out there who will appreciate you.

  14. What do those silly judges know! We know you are very uncommon. A polite lady horse who loves her mum and behaves in public.
