Wednesday Whinnies

Violette: Oh Dear Hearts, do you know what happened to me yesterday? I saw the DENTIST!!! He is a nice gentleman. I remember  him from last year, at the place I was at before, but let's face it, the dentist is the dentist is the dentist...

Gotta say, though, I really needed that. I had what is known as "dental overgrowth" where some teeth had formed sharp edges that cut the inside of my jaw and tongue. Ouch! I feel so much better now (and I was good as gold for the dentist)! This of course means that I can get back to work, and #1 can start riding me again, as long as the weather cooperates. That is going to be fun!

Vidock: I saw the dentist a few weeks ago, so I didn't need to go again. Phew! It's been pouring with rain again so guess what? We're back to mud city! The entrance to my field is a bona fide little pond once more!

When #1 brought me by treat bucket yesterday, she walked around the field and I posed for her:

See how my coat is beginning to dapple?

  1. Violette, we are glad you have a happy mouth again :)
Vidock, we really like your dappling.

  3. Love the dapplin' !

PeeEssWoo: Oh poor Tommy - hope your weather stays improved furry soon!

  4. Oh Miss Violette, that looks very uncomfortable.

  5. Vidock, your coat does look gorgeous. I love a dapple gray horse.
Our donkey had to have his teeth filed all the time since he has what is called a Monkey Mouth. So we familiar with the dentist. Take care.

  6. When I came to love with san I has to go to the dentist and he took out 3 of my canines! I do not like him and I sympathize with you Violette. Vidock will then sapling be all over you?

  7. Dappling I mean, not sapling.

  8. You look like you are being very good for the dentist Violette.
You look good with your dapples Vidock, a sign that Spring and Summer are at last on the way.

  9. Violette , what a brave girl to let the vet explore your mouth! Vet, what a brave man to stick your hand in a horse's mouth! :)

Vidock your face is also changing so much. Your furs look lovely.

the critters in the cottage xo

  10. Violette, that must have been so painful for you. We are so glad that you have such an attentive #1 to get that taken care of for you.

And Vidock - great posing and great pics!!!

Woos - Phantom, Thunder, Ciara, and Lightning

  11. Oh no, Violette, dentist is never fun! But glad your teeth are no longer hurting inside jaw and tongue :-)
    Vidock, I love your dapple!

  13. you sure are brave!! I think the dentist should have let you sit down in a chair!! lol

  14. Ohy word!! A horsie dentist! Run for the hills
    Benny & Lily

  15. My human visited the dentist recently too - and she was also very good and did not bite!

Vidock, your coat is gorgeous already!

  16. My mom is really glad that the human dentist isn´s using any saw´s in her mouth !

  17. I love the dappling on your coat but oh poor thing's the dentist. Glad it went well and that you will soon be back riding again.. Hope the rain lets up for you.. Hugs GJ x

  18. Oh Violette, I am so pleased that you will be able to chew now and not cut your tongue or jaw! Wonderful!
Vidock, your dappling is beautiful! It matches the rest of you perfectly. *sigh*

  19. Violette, glad you have no cavities to fill. Vidock, your coat is dood-a-li-shus.

  20. Violette, floating your teeth is a very good thing! You want to be able to eat and not cut your mouth and tongue. Vidock, how pretty your dapples are. Did your mom know you were going to do that? Is it something that develops as you get older?

  21. We'll be getting the dentist out before too long for our horses too.

  22. Hi there Violette & Vidock!! I am glad both of you were good for the Horse Dentist & everything is A-OK!!!
Vidock your dappling is lovely!! Not sure if I ever mentioned that Percherons are my favorite Draft breed!!!
