Violette: Pretty and Joyous Neighs to all of you, my Dear, DEAR Friends! I am so thrilled to be celebrating my birthday with all of you, surrounded by love and caring and every good thing! I am a truly lucky girl.
You know that #1 and I first met when I was just a tiny girl, only about four months old:
I was with my Mummy and had had very little contact with people but she just seemed to be special, somehow... And I was very curious about her:
Anyway, you all know my story, how I left that field for a while, then returned alone for that long, hungry winter, until #1 gave me my forever home last March. Here I am, dreaming of that day:
One of the first things #1 bought me after she brought me home was a violet headcollar!
I started going to school:
Learned to trust #1 and love her as much as she loves me!
Last December, I had to be moved to a new boarding facility, along with The Big V, and I made a bunch of new friends:
The winter was long and very wet, but #1 came to see us often. In March, I celebrated my First Gotcha Day!
And then I went back to school and learned all kinds of things. #1 told me I was both clever and more and more beautiful!
And, as you also know, I have now started carrying #1 on my back!
As I celebrate my Fourth Birthday today, I realise that this is life as it is lived by the very lucky. I am not just loved, I am cherished. No wonder that I always come when #1 calls me!
#1 tells me I am getting a special birthday gift from her, but it hasn't arrived yet. But the lady who made it did send us this photo:
They will go around my neck, like a necklace, and are called rhythm beads.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO OUR BELOVED VIOLETTE FROM #1, TOMMY, THE BIG V AND ALL THE CHANS!
