Wishes and Whiskers on Wednesday

Da Beebs here, to thank you on behalf of all of us for the lovely comments yesterday. It really warmed our hearts to read them all, and we are so happy to be part of such a wonderful community.

At this writing, the comment tally was 54. We imagine that a few more will trickle in today. At $1 per comment and then rounding up a little, we will be sending $75's worth of goodies to our friends at Winnie's Wish. We have made the bulk of our selection from their wish list but also added some other fun items.

Now on the subject of whiskers, # managed to get a close-up of my mad ones for your enjoyment!

Two Thousand Tuesday!

Tom: Can you believe it? Today is our 2000th blog post! It is way beyond what most of us can count but #1 says it is quite epic! We started blogging in late June 2008 and you can see our very first post here. Back then, it was just me and Sen-Chan, so we were a pretty small family. There was also Auntie Madrac from next door (Mad Fernant's predecessor) and she used to hang out with us a lot. Over the years, we have lost some of our family and gained several more. Now there are seven of us in the Poupounette Gang, rather than the original two. Of course, the Vs don't actually live with us but I am the go-between who transmits news between the Chans and the Vs so everyone knows what is going on.

Aside from #1, the other constant in the Poupounette since Post 1 has been ME! Over the years, I have made sure to love each and every member with all my heart, so we thought we would celebrate our 2000 posts with pics of me and all of my family over the years.

Here I am, not long after I arrived at Poupounette Central, with my buddy Sen-Chan (Photo - 2007):

I adopted Tama-Chan very quickly after she came to live with us. She really needed me after Sen-Chan went to the Bridge (Photo - 2009):

The next one who joined us was Sei-Chan (Photo - 2009)

Then came our very special Yuu-Chan, like a shooting star who left far too soon (Photo: 2010):

I digress a little but Yuu-Chan was very special and he also loved and looked after everyone. Here he is with little Bibi (Photo: 2010):

Then the Big V came into our lives. I never actually get too close to him…(Photo - 2011)

And little Genji! He was terrified of me at first but that didn't last long (Photo - 2011)!

The last one to join the Poupounette Gang was sweet Violette. I got to meet her when she was still living in that field, all on her own. But the one who really befriended her was Mad Fernant! Go figure (Photo - 2011)!

And the story of the Poupounette Gang would not be complete without our #1 who loves us all to bits. Here is a nice photo, taken by a friend a few years ago, of her and me in the big field (Photo - 2010):

It has been a wonderful adventure for us to blog. We have made so many friends (and sadly lost some too), and learned so much. I personally have only one motto by which I live each and every day, and that is to love everyone!

Manly Monday

Da Beebs: #1 would like to thank everyone for their kind wishes. Her GP friend stopped by yesterday and we are hoping it is just a hard knock that will get better quickly. In the meantime, it is a little hard for her to type much, so today's MM post will be just one photo of each of us boys!

My Snuggles on Sunday!

Tama-Chan: I need to start with a little administrative note, Dear  Friends. #1 has hurt herself again. Thankfully, it's not the knee this time, so she is mobile, but it is her left wrist. She is right-handed so that makes things easier, but everything is taking much longer to accomplish, and she is feeling rather frustrated. She thinks it is just a bad sprain. Of course it had to happen at the start of a 3-day weekend. Sigh… She is going to see if her GP friend is around. Otherwise, it is in a splint and will hopefully start to improve very soon.

Anyway it just so happens that, a few days ago, she managed to catch on video a major snuggle session I was having with Tommy, so that will be our SoS offering for today. We hope you will enjoy it!

Sei-Chan: Tra LalaLaLa LaaaaaaaaaaaaAH! Oh! Hello everyone! Guess what? I got 24 comments on my SEIturday post last week. That's more comments than any of the other posts this past week. Thank you for loving me! I am so happy!

This past week, the weather has been generally nice and sunny, even though still a little chilly. I ventured out into the tall grass in the cat run and had some undisturbed fun (no little brothers pouncing on me…):

#1 keeps saying she needs to do some work in there as it really is beginning to look like a jungle. But with all the logging she has been doing recently, there should be some fine new climbing frames up soon!

One does have to remain vigilant at all times though!

…which is exhausting work!

Oh, and just look at this plush sleeping option! Who needs cat beds when you can have a soft, folded over down duvet?!

Fun and Friends on Friday

Violette: Pretty Neighs, Dear Friends. I am hosting this post as #1 is a little short of both photos and ideas and she asked for my help.

Let me start with a fewf photos of me and my friends:

This little guy is called Stan. He is a very elderly French bulldog and he lives at the place where I board. As you can see, he really isn't scared of me one bit!

And here I am with some of my girlfriends whom I share my field with:

We love running around the field together!

Now, Mr. Floppy-Ears, as The Big V nicknamed Tommy, is apparently on pretty friendly terms with our neighbourhood kitties. Here he is with Basha, Fernant's tabby bro, and Manoush, Damia's long-haired bro:

Thunny Thursday!

Tom: Did you think it was going to be another of Thei-Chan's daynappings? Nope. Nothing of the kind! It's just me!

We have been reading reports of some very strange weather being experienced by our North-American friends, snow, sleet, high winds and what have you. That really is very wrong for this time of year. We have been enjoying glorious sunshine although it has been a little on the windy and chilly side.

Here I am, basking in the sunshine and tall grass (yes, I did get my tick medication):

Yesterday morning, #1 and I were busy putting up our "Koinobori." It is a Japanese tradition to put up carp streamers to celebrate the boys in the family, from April until early May. Big, fancy Koinobori cost thousands of Dollars/Euros/Pounds. We just have a small set but we love putting it up each year!

The weather was so nice that Thei-Chan ventured out into the cat run:

Oh, and guess what? Our apple tree is now in bloom! Apple blossoms are so pretty!

As it is Thursday, we do also have something to be thankful for. Our pals Derby and Ducky gave us an award! It's called the Yoo-Hoo Award and is very colourful! Thank You!
