Violette: Pretty Neighs, Everyone! It's beginning to get quite cool and we will be soon turning ourselves into big woolly bears rather than sleek horses when we grow our winter coats! In the meantime, however, the farrier came on Monday and both Vidock and I got new shoes. I decided to go for a slightly different style this time, a little longer at the back...
It's normally quite boring when the farrier is at work, especially that our current farrier is very meticulous so takes a pretty long time. But #1 makes sure I am kept entertained with what she calls my "lollipop" (a Himalayan salt lick):
Here is a nice shot of me in my field taken by #1 a few days ago:
And see how beautifully sleek my mane is? Some of you may remember that when I joined the Poupounette Gang, I didn't have much of a mane at all.
Vidock: Studly Neighs, EveryFriend! I also got some new shoes, and #1 caught one of those "hot shoe" shots of me this time!
Despite what #1 might tell you, I was a really good boy for the farrier.
And I continue to make progress at my lessons. Look at this next shot:
If you look closely, you will see that Mr. JPD is not even holding the reins!
And here is one of me showing off my beautiful moves:
Wishing you all an excellent Friday!
You both look like you are doing so well!
ReplyDeleteBet it feels good to have new shoes.
ReplyDeleteYou are coming along well Vidock :)

Your new shoe style is very pretty, Violette. Nice shot of "hot shoe" ! You're doing well, Vidock, we enjoy watching your moves ! Purrs
ReplyDeleteYou two sure do get lots of new shoes!!! You must do a lot of running to wear them out. That salt lick reminds us of how Mom sometimes lathers peanut butter on the fridge door so she can brush us without us running away:)
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend.

Y'all sure look terrific with your new dancing shoes! Have a fun weekend everyone!
ReplyDeleteShoe shopping, horsey style! MOL, love it! You both look awesome!
ReplyDeleteLove that hot shoe photo! Everyone is looking really well! :)
ReplyDeleteYeah! New shoes! That's always a fun time. #1 had a good idea to have that salt lick. Violette seemed to love it. In fact both V's looked so calm for the farrier. Their faces are so sweet. It looks like Vidock is doing very nicely with his training. "Look Mom, no reins!" Have a great day!
ReplyDeleteOh my we never knew you grew winter furs

Bon week end

Your new shoes look very nice Violette. You both look like you were very good for the farrier.
ReplyDeleteYou both are looking so good!
ReplyDeleteGreetings from a frequent reader, but rare commenter. Because I so enjoy reading of your adventures each morning - I had to smile when I saw my local paper featuring some "Pretty as a Percheron" police horses in their pictures this morning.
