Snowed In!

Tom: They had been predicting snow for several days so, this time, we thought we were prepared but.... when #1 and I went out last night at midnight for our last rounds, we almost sank! We didn't realise what had been happening and during the evening, something like a foot of snow came down! That is more than anyone remembers ever seeing here! We went to bed very excited about what our morning walk would bring us, and we were not disappointed!

The sun was shining!

The air smelled delicious!

Here is our house:

and the path down to the trout stream:

The big field:

And the magnificent oak trees:

I just LOVE the snow and I had the best time!

It was beyond awesome! When we got back, #1 had to spend quite a bit of time getting the snow crystals out from between my toes, and up my legs and on my tummy! And then I got special paw salve rubbed into my pawpads! This is the life!

Sleepy Wednesday

We looked out of the window...

Toysday with Tama-Chan

Tama-Chan: It would be a grave mistake, dear friends, to assume that motherhood has put a stop to my playing. In fact, #1 tells me that I am more playful than ever now! I am very partial to wand toys with feathers and she has been making sure that I get play time every day!

Of course, this is partly a pedagogical exercise as I do have to teach the kits how to play. Here they are, paying very close attention:

I must say that I am quite pleased with their progress in learning to play. Here is little Bibi-Chan with his banana:

And here are Hime-Chan and Fuku-Chan wrestling inside their tiny duplex condo:

And to the right, little GoGo-Chan discovering the joys of a sibling's tail!

But it seems that their favourite game is still the "feeding scrum"!

PS: #1 asked me to say thank you for all the nice comments about El Tigre yesterday. We are very happy to report that we already have someone interested in adopting him! One of our French blogging friends called us yesterday to say that her sister was very interested. We hope that the deal will be clinched very soon.

Manly Monday: A Little Kindness...

Yuu-Chan: I normally post after my big brother Tom on Mondays, but this week, #1 said I could go first and tell you about yesterday.

Uncle U came to see us with ViVi, as he does most Sundays, and this time, he brought a little surprise with him! Someone brought him a little kitten who is looking for a Forever Home and he decided to bring him over to show us all and see if #1 could find someone to adopt him. He is about two months old and we decided yesterday to name him El Tigre! He is very friendly and cute as a button, and we are pretty sure that he has some Aby blood in him...

Anyway, the little guy was originally placed in a show cage in the living room but he screamed so loud that we eventually let him out. He is pretty fearless and immediately decided that I was his big brother. Remember that I am called Yuu-Chan, which means gentle and sweet boy, and that is exactly what I was. I spent the afternoon hanging with El Tigre. Mentoring is a very manly activity, you know!

Please cross your paws that we find a good Forever Home for him very soon!

Tom: I have been having a fun few days as the endless rain we had between Christmas and the New Year stopped. It is now colder and sunny! ViVi and I have been having fun galloping around the field!

This next photo is a little blurry but I think it has real style, so I asked #1 to use it anyway:

And finally, here is a very manly "wet ears" photo from the time when it was still raining!

Snuggles on Sunday - The Kitten Edition

The Fab Four: Guess what? We will be one month old tomorrow! We are now running around (a little wobbly but it's still running!), and even climbing stuff! Our mummy, Tama-Chan, gets a little stressed out when we all go in different directions! She and #1 have attempted to "kitten-proof (HA!) the room but there are still nooks and crannies for us to hide! Fun, fun, fun! Anyway, you know what the best thing is? Our mummy really loves us and spends a lot of time snuggling with us!

Even though sometimes, it's a teeny bit embarrassing...

We love our Mummy!

In other news, the rest of the gang are busy relaxing in the living room...

Have a Snuggly Sunday, everyone!

Missing Him...

Sei-Chan: A year ago today, our beloved Sen-Chan ("Poupounet") went to the Bridge very unexpectedly, aged only 18 months. I was not even born yet, but he was my half-brother and so I feel that I am part of him. He was also a half brother to Tama-Chan's four little kittens.

We miss you Sen-Chan, your sweetness, your spirit of adventure, and the love you brought to this house.
