Violette Vendredi

Violette: Pretty Neighs, Everyone! Here I am again with lots of news and great photos to share with you!

Wasn't that snow last week something else? We had a little more snow at the end of the week and, amazingly, I emerged from it looking almost clean and fluffy! When #1 came to see me last Saturday, I looked like this:

It was a beautiful day and I gleamed in the sunshine!

Here is a fun pic of me with my friend Doupette. When he saw it, one friend sent us a You Tube link to the song Ebony & Ivory!

When #1 came back on Wednesday, though, there was freezing rain and it wasn't as much fun. We decided to have a fashion show and they tried out a brand new work collar and harness on me:

She is coming back today, so I bet there is more fun in store.

Here is a pic of me with my best pal, Samia. Isn't she the cutest?

Oh, and after all that hard work, I of course get my favourite violet bucket, full of grain and yummy treats!

I am thinking you are wondering how the Big V is doing, right? There hasn't been any blog news about him lately. Well, #1 has been doing a lot of thinking about him, and talking with Mr. R and Ms. B who are looking after him at the moment. They have all decided that it would be best for him to be separated from, ahem... his crown jewels. He will not be making any babies as the condition for which he was operated on last year may be hereditary, and she says it's not fair to let him dream big and be frustrated all the time. So, he will be going into a clinic near Salisbury next Monday, and have his surgery on Tuesday next week. We would very much appreciate all the crossed paws and hooves you can muster. It's a significant surgery for a horse his age and size. #1 plans to go and see him soon after.

  2. I will be purring lots for Vidock's surgery! Sometimes it happens to kitties too, they develop something that it's not a good idea to pass along to future generations. But they are still awesome kitties! And you are still an awesome horse, Vidock!

  6. We're glad to see you so happy, Violette ! That new work collar suits you purrfectly ! We searched on the web to understand how you separate the jewels as you said, and we saw it's really a big thing for an adult horse indeed : we cross our paws and are already purring for Vidock. Purrs

  7. I saw some of these photos on FB, Violette, and commented at how pretty you look! How nice to have friends of every stripe and color too. If the surgery is what's best for Vidock, then it's a really good thing that it's being done.
