Tommy's Thoughtful Thursday

Tommy: We had a couple of scorching hot days but it cooled down yesterday and it's really nice now (except for the rain...).

So, I was without #1 for several days and, when she returned, I decided to sit her down and find out what her plans are. My friends, the news is not great. She will be mostly here in September, although there will be a few days in England mid-month, and really busy stuff the last 10 days (with a bit of luck, I will be able to tag along, but the Chans will not like it one bit). October looks OK, but in November, if you will believe it, she is going back to Japan. Again!!! She says she has to make €€€ to pay for all the vet bills, especially the Big V's surgery, so I guess she really has to. Still, we would prefer to have her here.

I am wondering if guarding the front door might help...

I wish I could convince her to take me even more places with her (I know she already takes me to lots). A friend recently took this pic that we both love:

Ultimately, though, there is nothing to do other than hang with my great kitty crowd. Here I am with Da Genj:

Yes, I know that's my bed, but I really don't mind if the little one needs to use it.

Happy last day of August, everyone!

Wednesday Whinnies

Vidock: Studly Neighs, EveryFriend! I am back! Back in my beautiful field!

I was waiting for #1 in my field early yesterday morning (before it got too hot) and she came! She said I was as handsome as ever, if not handsomer!

She of course brought me my apples and carrots!

Will you come again today, #1? She said she would!

I will be going for a follow-up endoscopy on September 11t, to make sure everything is as good as I feel.

Violette: It's a good job #1 came early because yesterday was a real scorcher. Still, treats are an important source of strength to resist the heat, right?

Here I am from a somewhat unusual angle:

#1 says I am lovely whatever the angle... (blush)...

Tama-Chan Tuesday

Tama-Chan: She has returned! It was pretty late last night but at least she is back with us. She says she will stay home for the next 10 days. I suppose that is something, right?

I am using all my charm to convince her to stay put:

#1 took this photo of me the day before she left:

She said it reminded her of a photo of me she took in the exact same place when I was only three months old:

You can tell how little I was by looking at me relative to the height of the wooden frame of the window! She says I am still the most beautiful kitty ever...

Manly Monday

Da Genj: I don't like it when #1 goes away and she has been doing it far too often lately. She says these trips will continue for a lot of September and she promises to stay home after that! I hope she's telling the truth.

#1 took this fun photo of me the other day. She says I was communing with my inner zebra!!!

She wasn't making fun of me, was she?

Da Beebs: I agree that #1 has been going away too much!

I have to think hard of ways to keep her here with us!

Tommy: I have had a lot of good times recently, thanks to #1, so I guess I should give her a break, right? I am, look at that beach!

Close-up:

That was so great, but I also love being in my field at home!

Oh, and just one more photo of you, to show you that it is very manly to wear flowers in your hair!

Vidock: I am back home and eagerly waiting for #1 to come and see me today! It's great to be back in my field! I hope to have some new photos of me soon. In the meantime, this one is a few days old.

Snuggles on Sunday

Tama-Chan: I have to say that this week's SoS post is all over the place. #1 and Tommy were away for a few days and it seems there was some illicit snuggling on...

#1 caught kitten-handed!

Tommy teaching little BB all about snuggling with woofies:

#1 snuggling with one of Tommy's sisters:

In more classical snuggling, here is #1 with my Beebs:

And with Tommy!

Tommy went out to dinner with #1 a few evenings ago and spent the entire time snuggling with the kids from the next table, who were visiting from Germany!

Here is a pic of #1 with Violette, taken by a friend who used a strange stting on her camera!

Here is one of Tommy and Da Genj hanging together:

Genji of course always finds a way to crawl into #1's arms!

SEIturday

Sei-Chan: Yes, #1 is away again, although this time, she left us Tommy and of course, Mr. G is looking after us, so I can't really complain too much, can I? Plus she says that she needs to make €€€ to pay for Vidock's surgery and convalescence costs, so I suppose it's OK, right?

I have been busy with my beauty rest. Here is a special shot with nicely positioned front paws and a full back leg dangle:

Caught in a sunpuddle:

And a pink pawpad special!

Have a great SEIturday, everyone!

Family Friday and Miscellany - by Violette

Violette: Pretty Neighs, everyone! I hope you are all well. Our #1 has been here, there, and everywhere, and she is leaving again today, until late Monday! On the other hand, the Big V is coming home this weekend from his convalescence, so that is a good thing.

So, family Friday... You know what? My little sister, Héloise, is a clown! You don't believe me? Take a look at this:

Where on earth did she learn to do that? And look at those ears!!!

Do you think it's some kind of semaphore?

Ah, this is better! She looks like a proper filly now!

She is growing like a weed! Here is a more elegant shot of her:

This is nothing to do with me or my family, but #1 had the great good fortune last week to go and see some horses working in vineyards south of here. They were totally awesome, so I thought it would be nice to share some pics:

This is a beautiful "Comtois" breed draft mare called Mascotte:

And this is a Percheron gelding called Vaillant:

Everything is organic, and all kinds of flowers and tomatoes grow along the vines, to energise them! #1 got to try (and bring home) some of the great wine produced there!

It is really great to use horses in vineyards, rather than tractors, because they cause no destruction and do not compact the soil!

Just in case you were missing me, I thought I would end with a shot of me:

Tommy's Thankful Thursday!

Tommy: Oh boy oh boy, OH BOY! I don't even know where to start. I have SO MUCH to be thankful for. I had the best ever time with my sisters and niece over the weekend and on my birthday!

It was great to hang out with my sisters Sophie and Lydia who share my love of playing with balls:

Sophie on the left, Lydia in the middle and me on the right

With Sophie (as you can see, I am a bit of a giant next to her)

 With Sophie

I am in the back!

The best thing ever was our trip to the beach. We all went, all five of us!

From left to right, Elsie, me, Lydia, Sophie and Emily

Coming down the dunes:

All of us with Ms. A:

 Beach Ball!

My two crazy sisters, Sophie in the back and Lydia in the front!

#1 with the ball thrower:

And then, on our birthday. Ms. A made us the most amazing birthday cake, with minced meat and sausages and egg!

It was SO yummy!

I think I am one of the luckiest woofies anywhere, and I am very, very thankful for everything I have!
