Mini Wednesday Whinnies

#1 here again, to share another adventure with you. Yesterday, some wonderful friends took me on a journey of discovery. We drove more the three hours from Tokyo, to a place called Kiso, deep into the mountain range called the Japan Alps. There, we visited the Kiso Horse Conservation Trust.

The Kiso Horse is one of Japan's eight native horse breeds. They are all very rare, and there are only about 150 Kiso horse left in the world now. Fortunately, the conservation trust has been working hard to preserve the breed, and there are a number of births every year! The foals are simply adorable!

This guy is one of their three stallions. His name is Suzu Kaze which means "The Wind of Chimes"

I was able to have a little snuggle with him. As you can see, he is nowhere near as big as the Big V!

Kiso horses have such beautiful faces and very gentle eyes. I feel very fortunate to have had the opportunity to visit such a beautiful place and meet  these lovely, rare horses:

  8. Ce poulain est absolument craquant.
Et je suis ravie de voir que je n'avais pas complètement tors. Ses ancêtres sauvages ne sont pas vraiment lointains.
Une agréable visite sans nul doute.
    Bonne soirée
