Tama's Thankful Tuesday

Tama-Chan: So, yesterday was the big day. #1, Tommy and I set off early  afternoon for the almost two hour drive to the VetRef facility near Angers where I was booked in for an electrocardiography.

I sat patiently in my carrier, waiting to leave:

When we got there, #1 held me close and told me not to worry:

A young intern came in first and took my details and examined me before the radiology specialist came in. He took one look at me and said "Oh she is SO beautiful" and then told #1 that he has two Somalis, showing her pics on his phone! He picked me up and covered me in kisses! It sure was an unusual vet visit!

As the intern held me, he shaved off tiny squares under my front armpits:

And then turned out the lights to do the actual exam:

Look how beautiful my heart looked:

And it WAS beautiful1 He did not detect any abnormalities in function or thickening or arrhythmia. Nothing! I have a great heart! #1 was so thrilled! Here we are, with Tommy too, waiting to get the full report:

Dr. C called #1 after we got home. She says she is pleased but also stumped as she just doesn't know what has been making me cough. She said if I were a dog, she would tell #1 to take me to the South of France to see if a different environment would clear it up, but I guess that's not really possible. So, #1 will be talking to her on Thursday, after she has reviewed all the images and info, to decide how to proceed. In the meantime, #1 has given me five gold stars!

And in case you didn't get it earlier...

MY HEART IS FINE!!!

Manly Monday

Tommy: First of all, we would like to apologise to anyone who tried to look at our blog and/or comment yesterday. Unless you were doing so from a cellphone/mobile phone, you probably couldn't. We had the problem too. We don't know what has caused it, what to do about it, and we don't even know if it's solved. Thanks for sticking with us!

I am feeling pretty chuffed at the moment because the lovely Wilhelmina from Critters at the Cottage has agreed to be my date at the Valentine's Day event being organised by Murphy and Stanley. I don't go to such events often and this is going to be fun! I must remember to send our photos in!

In the meantime, I have been enjoying my romps in the fields:

And I went out dining with #1 to a friend's house the other day:

Everyone always comments on what a good boy I am! I shall be accompanying #1 and Tama-Chan today, and Tama-Chan will tell you all about it tomorrow.

Vidock: #1 has started working me properly in the sand school again, now that I have recovered condition following my operation and rest period.

Of course, I can't resist being a little bit naughty sometimes!

Da Beebs: I am a little bit worried about my Mama Tama and have been napping in close proximity to her so she can get some good vibes from me.

I also wanted to show you how Da Genj and I protect #1 when she sleeps:

No harm can possibly come to her this way, right?

Da Genj: Is there anything better than a Shining Prince napping in a sunpuddle?

And here is a pic of me and Da Beebs out in the cat run on a day when it wasn't too cold and not raining:

Snuggles on Sunday

Tama-Chan: Welcome to our weekly post of snuggles! We have had quite a good week in terms of getting in a  lot of snuggling. As you know, I love to snuggle with my Tommy:

And here are the two of us snuggling with #1:

I often snuggle in with #1 in the evenings:

As you also know, I am not the only Tommy fan! Sei-Chan is a Tommy snuggler too:

Here is Tommy getting an ear rub from #1:

Here is a cute one of Sei-Chan giving #1's hand a lick:

And they took this rather fun "ussie""

My Beebs goes undercover with #1 most nights:

Although sometimes they take turns with Da Genj:

This one, if you can't make it out, is my Beebs with Tommy:

When we had guests the other evening, Da Genj was big time into snuggling with Mr. H!

And Tommy was giving kisses to Ms. H!

#1 managed a quick snuggle with the Big V:

No snuggles with Violette, but there is this rather nice shot of #1 with Violette's Mama, Hotesse. As you can see, #1 is getting licked big time!

Remember to snuggle with your loved ones!

PS: May I also ask for some good thoughts tomorrow? #1 is taking me to a big veterinary imaging centre so they can see exactly what is going on with my heart. It is an almost two hour drive from here. We are all hoping I do well. I was coughing a bit again yesterday and Dr. C told #1 that, this way, it would be possible to get a more detailed diagnosis and so more targeted medication for me.

BIRTHDAY SEIturday!

Sei-Chan: Greetings, Dear Friends, and thank you for stopping by to help me celebrate my birthday! Where do the years go? I can't believe that I am eight years old today!

The last year has not always been easy as I was diagnosed with some early stage kidney issues last spring. But I have been taking a wonderful medication called Semintra, and eating Virbac renal food, and I am doing very well! This is my official birthday portrait:

Although #1 says she has a real soft spot for this one:

Both those pictures were taken on the radiator in the living room. I have been doing well in getting radiator time!

I am looking a little bit serious in this one:

But here is the really special one, the one #1 calls her "Golden Girl" shot:

And here is a variant so you can give me some chin scritches:

Of course no birthday post would be complete without some baby photos, so here is one of me and my Mama, Viña:

And another:

I am a lucky girl to be living with a family I love and who love me. I know I am shy and a bit scaredy, but I am a very happy girl.

Thank you for being my friends! And Happy Chinese New Year!

Frootbat Friday

Da Genj: #1 says it's been a while since we had a Frootbat Friday post, so we looked through recent photos to see what we could find. I shall kick off and, even if I say so myself, I think this is rather a nice GloBat effort:

By the way, I am now off my meds. I am still sneezing a bit but Dr. C said I should be OK since there is no discharge.

Here is one of Da Beebs shgowing off his Beebats (and a bit of attitude...):

Miss Sei showing off her 'Bats:

And Queen Tama showing off hers!

Vidock submitted an entry this week. It's called "The Single 'Bat Effect":

And here is Violette's more conventional entry:

Last but not least, #1 managed to catch a pretty awesome Flying Ears one of Tommy!

Tommy Thursday

Tommy: Our sunpuddles have been missing for the past couple of days, but we are supposed to get some today. #1 is waiting, camera in hand!

Despite the lack of sunpuddles, we had a nice walk in the woods on Tuesday, some of it with the Big V!

#1 also took this rather nice portrait of me:

Tomorrow evening, we're going for pizza and I'm looking forward to getting my share!

Washin' Wednesday!

Da Beebs: We all know how important it is to keep a clean machine. Lately, with all the sunpuddles we have been getting, it has even been possible for us to bathe in the sunshine. Like so:

Close-up of my glowing whiskers:

Changing locations:

Not that I am suggesting that the others don't do a proper job or anything...

Da Genj: Hey! I have also been keeping myself looking spick and span!

Tama and Sei: That is the kind of boyish suggestion that doesn't even deserve a response...
