Somber SEIturday

Sei-Chan: As you know, we live in France. We are about  one and a half to two hours from Paris, either by car or train, in a rural area where nothing very exciting happens from day to day. Yesterday morning, we woke for the third time in less than two years to news of a horrible attack that took place in our country, and we are devastated. We are not affected directly, and out friends in the south of France are OK, but we are so sad that the world has come to this, the indiscriminate  murder of dozens, hundreds of people on a regular basis in the name of some god or other. We are not a religious household. Our belief is that each and every one of us is responsible for being a decent human being, and that no crutch should be necessary to achieve this. We mourn every soul who died, and we hope that all those in hospital will recover, but do not talk to us of prayers. We cats, dogs and horses have no religion and we are a great deal more civilised than humans. That really says it all.

#1 had to go into Paris yesterday, as you know, because she had an eye appointment. It was a beautiful day and Paris looked lovelier than ever. We can only hope that somehow, people will learn one day to "see beautiful" rather than to let hatred fester in their hearts.

  1. My human is so with you on this! She believes in action, not prayers or wishes. Well, she does think it's okay for people to pray or whatever, as long as they also take action and do what is decent and kind. And there is not enough decency and kindness in the world right now, sadly.

It makes me glad I'm a kitty.

  2. We agree that animals are more civilized than many humans ;)
There are so many good humans in the world, but we only hear about the bad ones.
How messed up is it that bad deeds make the news and not good deeds?
Humans need to get their priorities straight :/

  6. What is going on with this world, Sei-Chan? People are crazy! Your siblings would never display such hatred. It's all over the place... one right after another. It's scary! Despite the violence, everyone try to enjoy your Sei-turday!

  7. Bonjour Sei,

  8. What a shame that the terrorists can't do some good in the world instead of killing everyone who they think might stand in their way.
    Take care all of you.

  13. It sure is a sad time we are having. We saved a quote from this post: "Our belief is that each and every one of us is responsible for being a decent human being, and that no crutch should be necessary to achieve this." as it so eloquently says just how our pawrents feel too.
