Thankful Thursday - 2015 in Review

Today is the last day of the year and each member of the Poupounette gang is posting a photo from 2015 and their thoughts and thanks for the year.

Tommy: It has been a wonderful year for me, except for when #1 was gone (well, except for when my sister and niece came to stay). I think I loved my time on the beach in the summer the most, but the Japanese festival was pretty cool too. I am thankful that I can go almost everywhere with #1, including the pizza rsetaurant!

Tama-Chan: I am thankful to have a wonderful home and a #1 who spoils me, including feeding me my meals on the windowsill in the cat run when the weather and time permit. I am also thankful for all the lovely spots in the house where we can enjoy sunpuddles.

Sei-Chan: I am thankful that #1 still loves me even though she couldn't catch me to take me to the vet for my shots this year. I love crawling into her bed when she is asleep and cuddling up against her. I am also thankful for my woofie Tommy who is always there for me.

Da Beebs: I am thankful that #1 still loves me even though I have left unwelcome deposits in various places in the living room over the past few months. I am thankful that she tried to understand and talk to me about it through Fern, a nice lady animal communicator.  I am thankful that my Mama Tama and I are having a truce but most of all, I am thankful for my #1.

Da Genj: I am thankful that the world is full of people who love me and want to cuddle me. I am thankful for each and every cuddle, and for all the yummy food I eat, and for all the cuddles.

Vidock: I am thankful for the amazing year I have had and all he fun stuff I got to do with Uncle E, Mr. I from Japan and Mr. JPD, my dressage teacher. I am thankful for my #1 who always wants the very best for me. I guess one of the high points of my year was when I was part of a guard of honour at the exit of the great mass at Chartres Cathedral.

Violette: I am thankful for all the great moments I shared with #1 in 2015. I had fun when we took part together in the World War I commemorative parade, but I have to say that the absolute highlight of the year for me was taking part in our version of the Japanese festival, Chagu-Chagu Umakko. I was so proud to be wearing that finery and I know #1 was very proud of me, and I was so thankful for all of that.

Trav: I am thankful that I have found a safe place to be, with good food and a warm and dry bed. I know I am still not letting #1 close to me, but I am thankful nonetheless.

#1: I am thankful for an amazing year filled with adventure and the companionship of Tommy, Tama, Sei, Beebs, Genji, Vidock, Violette and Trav. It is a privilege to share my days with them, and also to share them and their adventures with all of you.

Wednesday Whinnies

Violette: Pretty neighs, Dear Friends. It seems like ages since I did a post. I hope you are all well. I am doing fine although I am a tad muddy at the moment. Oh you know what was fun? The other day, #1 came to have dinner with the owners of the farm where I live and she stopped by to give me an apple or her way back, in the pitch dark. Of course, I knew it was her!

#1 took this rather nice photo of me the other day. I had just noticed that she was there:

And then there is this one she took when she was coming back from her last walk in the woods with Tommy. I was waiting for them!

Vidock: Studly neighs, EveryFriend!  How about this nice sunny portrait of me?

I think that, maybe, I am levitating in this photo. What do you think?

Tama-Chan Tuesday

Tama-Chan: I cannot believe it's been a whole week since my last post. The time does fly when you have fun, doesn't it?

I am happy to say that my Christmas truce with my Beebs has been going rather well. Here is a photo of us sitting companionably together:

And here are the two of us companionably looking out of the windown in the study (the squirrels are back, by the way!):

As you know, we have also had that great big blond lump staying with us over the holidays. He sticks to #1 like glue most of the time, a potential treat or food item being his sole purpose in life. He also cramps our style at supper in front of the TV...

Of course, #1 is also looking after his kitty bro, Basha, who asked us if we minded putting a pic of him on the blog for his lovely lady, Loustiquette, who lives down south. So here goes:

We have been having some nice sunpuddles, so here is yet another regal shot of me reclining on the fine upholstery and soft Peggy's Blankie:

Have a lovely Tuesday, Dear Friends!

Manly Monday

Da Genj: As you know, I was a very busy boy on Christmas Day. Everyone said that I looked so handsome in my Christmas bow tie!

Da Beebs: On Christmas Day each year, I get to wear a very special elf collar with little bells on it!

Vidock: I have been enjoying my treats now that #1 has resumed regular visits!

Tommy: Mad Fernant and I looked very festive on Christmas Day:

And I got to go on another walk in the woods with #1 (sans Fernant as he runs off and cannot be trusted...).

Da Trav: For the last few days, I have been getting pieces of real turkey with my evening meal. I don't think I ever ate real turkey before. It's very yummy!

Christmas Snuggles on Sunday

Tama-Chan: Today's post is going to be a bit of a mishmash. The last few days have been busy. #1 is still not 100% and gets tired really easily, and hasn't been taking as many photos as usual. So, not everyone will be featured in today's post, but we wanted to convey the Christmas spirit to you.

I was a most gracious hostess on Christmas Day when all the family was with us:

Those are most excellent boys who truly appreciate kitties.

Guess who was a complete tart?

Every time they come, they always ask if they can take Genji home, even though they have a wonderful house panther, Pixel, of their own.

My Beebs was looking very festive in his elf collar:

Sei-Chan was MIA all day. None of the guests saw her as she stayed upstairs away from the noise.

Tommy, on the other hand, had a great day. Here he is with the twins:

And Mad Fernant was never far away...

We all got prezzies from the boys!

And I shall leave you with a shot of Tommy enjoying a snuggle with #1:

SEIturday Slumbers

Sei-Chan: I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas Day. We certainly did, with all of the family who joined us for a raucous Christmas lunch. After all of that, we need to rest and we have decided to spend a good part of the day in bed!

MERRY CHRISTMAS

From all of us to all of you. May the spirit of Christmas, with all its kindness and goodwill, be with you today.

Trav's Thankful Christmas Eve

Trav: Greetings, One and All. Trav here, aka "The Traveller." #1 told me that today is a special day, the start of a big celebration for many people around the world. Apparently, they call it the season of good will to all, so I thought it would be the perfect time to express mine, and my thanks.

One year ago, I am not really sure where I was. #1 says that from just how feral I am, I must always have been on my own, never knowing the comfort of a home or the sweetness of a kind hand. Anyway, you may remember that I somehow found myself at the end of this lane in early March. I wasn't sure about this place at first but nobody chased me away, which was a first. Then, little by little some food started to appear for me. There were some other cats around but they were pretty cool and there was a floppy-eared woofie who didn't even chase me. For a while, I came and went but started to hang out quite regularly on an old mattress that was on top of a beat-up car in a hangar. There was a lady with curly hair who started talking to me, and I could see she put out food for me.

The months passed, and the food kept coming, two meals a day! The lady showed me a spot at the back of her garage where there were boxes filled with soft straw. I got my very own food and water bowls and I now have a warm shelter for when it gets cold (hasn't happened yet). And I even have a name. She calls me "Trav"! I still wont let anywhere near me, no closer than about three feet, but I am so, so thankful for everything I now have. I know many of you have been asking about me from afar too and I would like to let you know how thankful I am.

Merry Christmas from your feral friend, Da Trav!

Genji on Wednesday

Genji: I asked #1 for a special Christmas bowtie this year. I wanted something that would look good against my furs. This is what she ordered:

Do you like it?

Our poor #1 is still not as well as she would like to be. The sore throat came back. Can you believe that? I'm revving up my nursing engines...

Tuesday 22 December 2015

Tama-Chan Tuesday

Tama-Chan: I am feeling pretty mellow at the moment, Dear Friends.

Evenings by #1's side on the sofa...

Lolling about on the rug...

A spot of grooming...

I think I am ready for Christmas!

Monday 21 December 2015

Manly Monday

Tommy: This is it! The Christmas countdown has officially started. #1stil has some cards to mail and packages to wrap but we're in OK shape given the health debacle of the past couple of weeks.

On Saturday afternoon, I even got to go for a walk in the woods!

Vidock: Same old for me, guys. I'm just a hard-working stud (and I have big plans for 2016!)

 Da Beebs: Studies in manliness...

Da Genj: Me too!

Da Trav: Zzzzzzzzzzzz......

Sunday 20 December 2015

Snuggles on Sunday!

Tama-Chan: The last SoS before Christmas! We are more than ready for the holidays although poor #1 is still coughing and still on meds. But, she does say that she has her senses of taste and smell back and that is the most important thing! We had a big pot luck dinner at out house on Friday evening and everyone had a great time!

Now, given that it is the festive season, I thought I should perhaps make a gesture towards my son, Da Beebs.

Hey, YOU!

My Beebs: Yes, Mama-Tama?

Me: Shall we have a Christmas truce?

My Beebs: I would love that, Mama-Tama!

Me: OK, then. Just for a bit.

So, that's sorted out, then. I hope Santa remembers this...

Oh, and I also decided I needed to have a nice long snuggle with #1:

In other news, Sei-Chan has been snuggling with Tommy, if you can find her in this picture:

Ah, this one is a bit better:

Da Genj has been undercover with #1:

Soppy Beebs of course simply adores his #1:

And Tommy was photographed having a huge snuggle with #1 at our pot-luck!

No Big V snuggle pic this week, but we are very glad to see the return of Miss Violette! Here she is getting some yummy apples and carrots from #1 yesterday:

 Remember, Sundays are for Snuggling!
