Vidock and Violette Vendredi

Vidock: Studly Neighs, EveryFriend. We have a tale of woe to tell you today... You see, horsies, just like people, should see the dentist once a year, and yesterday was the day. For us horsies, the dentist actually makes a house call but, believe me, it doesn't make it any more fun. And may I say that I would like to lodge an official protest against #1 who told me I was a spoiled sissy who engaged in grand theatrics when there was no reason to. NO REASON? You call that drill no reason? Well, OK, it wasn't a drill. Just a float to smooth around the edges, but it made that awful sound. And no, #1 I didn't almost crush you against the wall on purpose...

Violette: Pretty Neighs, Everyone! Can you see my halo? Can you????? I was an absolute angel for the dentist, unlike that macho Big V. For once, I got ALL the compliments and thoroughly deserved them. And it just so happens my teeth hadn't grown as much as his, so I needed less work. If only he would understand that it was all for his own good. It hurts when horse teeth get too long and then injure the gums.

Anyway, we both have perfect pearly whites now!

See you next week. We'll have lots to tell you as the excitement builds up!

  1. Vidock, maybe it is the sound and feeling of that thing in your mouth.
We are not sure we would like it either.

  5. I am glad you were such a good girl Violette. My mum used to have a Cleveland Bay who used to act all big and bolshy until he had the dentist. Then he was a quivering big baby.

  6. We wouldn't like to see a dentist either, Vidock, that sounds no fun at all ! You're so brave, Violette ! We're glad the teeth control was good for you both ! Purrs

  8. We understand your fear of the dentist Big V. We know San always asks the vet about our teeth and we are happy the vet tells her that our teeth can wait for another year. We will think about your advice Violette. Maybe ...

  9. Lightning would be very dramatic too, and Ciara would ever be the lady. As she always says, boys drool and girls rule:)

We bet your teeth are sparkling and gleaming now.

  10. That thing that holds your mouth open looks a bit wicked. Glad you are good to go for another year.

  11. Visiting the Dentist is never a good time! It's so invasive. Especially for a horse. I'm impressed with Violette being so patient and brave. But I don't blame Vidock for protesting against such a procedure. The good thing is it's all over!!
