Violette Vendredi

Violette: Pretty neighs, everyone! I hope you won't mind my posting again. I know that some of you prefer kitty or woofie-full posts, but I wanted to let you know about my osteopath visit on Wednesday.

I have to confess that I was a little bit naughty when it came to climbing into the trailer. Those of you who have a problem getting your kitties into their carrier, imagine what fun it is to get a 900kg (about 2000lb) horse into a trailer when she doesn't want to!!! Anyway, they managed eventually by tricking me and once I got to Dr F's surgery, I was good as gold. You often have to wait a long time there but we were the first so I got seen right away.

Here are some picks of Dr. F working his magic on me:

#1 really loves this close-up. She says I have the loveliest eye!

So, the upshot is that I got injections in both knees (ouch) so that I continue to feel better, and I need another new pair of custom-made shoes! These won't have the bar across the back and will be set a little differently on my hooves. #1 says she is going to start calling me Imelda. Anyone know why? My name is Violette, you know.

Tomorrow, we will be back with beautiful miss Sei-Chan and Sunday, well Sunday... guess what we are celebrating?

Tommy's Thankful Thursday

Tommy: Woofs, Everyone! Thank you for all the good vibes for me and Violette yesterday. She will tell you more about her visit next week, but suffice to say that everything went well for both of us. I got a totally clean bill of health and some excellent manipulation at the hands of one of the best veterinary osteopaths in France.

Now some of you may find the setting of this photo a bit strange for a vet's office...

The thing is that this vet is an equine specialist so his surgery is set up for horses and not woofies. I was very lucky that he would see me! He is very famous in the horse world all across France.

And he made my ears fly!

In other news, Camp Tommy has been in session since Tuesday, when Fernant's parents left for a week's vacation. So, guess what's been happening at this end?

Yes, he is still as mad as ever, but he is my little bro and I am thankful for him.

Really!

Wednesday Whinnies

Violette: Pretty Neighs, Everyone. Did you miss us? Or should I ask if you missed me, as you heard the latest news from our Big V TV star on Monday. Don't worry, I am not jealous. Wait and see what I have planned in August! You will be DAZZLED!

Anyway, things have been quiet. It has gotten cooler and we have had some rain. Today I am going back to see the awesome Dr. F who prescribed those special shoes for me a couple of months ago. I am crossing my hooves that he will find my leg in good order. He will also see Tommy about his prostate issues. We would both appreciate some good vibes.

#1 did a nice photo shoot of me a couple of days ago, and this photo has proved one of her most popular posts ever on Facebook!

I guess I am pretty gorgeous... #1 also liked this one:

Yes, yes. She did take come shots of the Big V too:

He is going back to his birth home for a week or two in a few days as Uncle E will prepare him for his appearance in mid-August at our big Percheron Festival. But I will definitely be the more glamorous of us two!

By the way, #1 has been visiting my little sister, Doucette, every day. It seems she has been sticking her head where she shouldn't and she has quite the "do" at the moment!

To be fair I did something similar to #1 recently, although not quite on that scale.

It took quite a bit of time and effort for #1 to comb it all out!

Tama-Chan Tuesday

Tama-Chan: So, let me start with the important stuff. This is my birthday week and I am planning to celebrate each and every moment until we get to the day itself. Did you know that here, at Poupounette Central, we have three August Leos? There is moi, of course, and then there is Tommy and #1. It's a good month for us. I, of course, am the jade-eyed diva and Queen of this house:

It has gotten much cooler, and we have even had some rain, so I have been spending more time just relaxing in the window hammock in the study. The squirrel channel is running pretty much permanently there:

I have also been spending time on the discarded desk chair in the study, staring reproachfully at #1, although it has not yet yielded any positive results yet.

Maybe I need to ask Sei-Chan how to look more severe. I can't seem to achieve quite the same effect.

Manly Monday

Vidock: Studly Neighs, EveryFriend! So, you want to hear how I came to be on French network TV last week? Well this is what happened. The museum where #1's photo exhibition is on received a call, requesting an interview from FR3, one of France's pubic network channels. They came last Monday and the interview went very well, But then, the reporter asked if he could come and see us horses for real and maybe include us in the very short snipped (only one minute and forty five seconds). So, #1 brought him to our farm and he was so impressed by me that he didn't even go to see Violette. To be honest, he said there really would be no time to include both of us.

This shows you the newscaster introducing the interview:

And this is a little bit later:

I was extremely well behaved throughout. Mr. C very kindly gave #1 a hand with me as I have been known to be a little bit naughty.

I definitely deserved that treat bucket!

Tommy: I got to try out a new Italian restaurant last week, with #1 and one of her Japanese friends. They welcomed me very warmly!

And they even brought me a bowl of water:

Da Beebs: Here I am, giving #1 moral support as she was eating one evening in front of the TV:

And in this one, I was hanging by #1's bed one evening. I think it's a pretty romantic shot, don't you?

Genji: I have been spending some time at the top of the cat tree in the litchen (when Queen Tama isn't around, that is):

And #1 took this close-up, big nose shot of me. Would have been a great selfie, don't you think?

#1 here. Do any of you remember our buddy Tora-Chan? He stayed with us for a little while in early 2010 as we found him a Forever Home, and he was looked after so sweetly by Yuu-Chan:

That was then. Tommy and I went to visit him at the weekend and we were glad to see him in great form:

And as you can see in the photo, he has two kitten siblings. They are brothers and are mega-cute!

Don't they remind you of our old friends, Raymond and Busby?!

Snuggles on Sunday?

Tama-Chan: We have a friend n England who calls her household "Casa del Chaos" and I think we are heading in that direction at Poupounette Central. The result, at this stage, is that photo-taking is somewhat intermittent and it is feast or famine, depending on #1's capacities on any given day. To give you an idea of her state of mind, she has found herself taking to Tommy in Japanese more than once recently. Enough said.

Needless to say, the best thing to do at such times is hang close to Tommy, as I did:

Da boys, as usual tend to like to hang together:

Although that Beebs of mine is still over the moon and then some at having his #1 back:

Now, we are a bit short on the snuggles this week, but we do have a highly unusual snuggle for you! We have a screen shot of #1 and The Big V snuggling on television!!! It's a little blurry but here it is:

Vidock wll tell you all about how he and #1 got to be on French TV (The FR3 network channel) on tomorrow's Manly Monday post.

Wishing you all a very snuggly Sunday!

SEIturday

Sei-Chan: What? WHAT??? It's SEIturday already????? But I am not ready! Where did the week go? I suppose we are all in a kind of torpor, now that #1 is with us and she is so busy, running around all the time... We have no idea which day of the week it is anymore.

But! She did find to take this shot of my pink toes!

And me hanging out with my sister Tama. We are doing this a lot at the moment:

#1, you really are going to have to slow down eventually...

 Have a lovely SEIturday, everyone!

Friends on Friday!

#1 here. Quite by chance, I have managed to get some nice photos of our neighbour kitties over the past few days and thought we would share them with you.

Let me start with our good buddy Marmite, aka The Traveller. Here he is yesterday morning  in the field that Tommy usually romps in:

We think he is looking very handsome at the moment!

At the same time, on the other side of the same field was handsome Basha, showing off his beautiful markings for his fair lady, Loustiquette:

Other side:

Meanwhile, Miss Jade, who is a tiny little thing, was trying to look like a fierce huntress:

Not forgetting the lovely Miss Grisette!

Now these next two are more enterainment than actual kitties, but here is one of our junior squirrels:

And one of the many lizzards gracing our terrace at the moment:

Tommy Thursday

Tommy: #1 is going through a very busy time again at the moment. I wanted to let you know that she was on French TV a couple of days ago, interviewed about her photo exhibition1 The Big V was featured as well! Anyway, she is running around trying to meet various deadlines,  and our blog posts may be a little shorter than usual.

Here is a shot of me in the evening sunshine she took a few days ago:

And how about this nice portrait?

However busy she is, she still takes me for my runs in the fields!
