Tearful Tuesday

Tama-Chan: We had a terribly sad day yesterday. Everything started out well, but #1 got a call from our neighbour, Ms. N, just before noon, saying there was something very wrong with their kitty, our buddy Manoush. #1 immediately cancelled her lunch appointment and rushed Manoush to their vet with Ms. N (Ms. N doesn't drive and her daughter who lives with her, Ms. C, is on the waiting list for a heart/lung transplant).

We were all hoping that it was an accident, something that could be put right, but very worried by the fact that Manoush seemed to be paralysed in the hind legs. And then, the verdict came from the vet, a blood clot had blocked flow to the whole lower part of the body leaving sweet Manoush paralysed and incontinent, and in a lot of pain. There was  sadly nothing to be done but help him across the Bridge. #1 took Ms. N back to the vet's so they could both say their goodbyes, and they brought home Manoush whom #1 buried in their garden. He was only seven years old.

Manoush, I know I screamed like a banshee every time you came anywhere near the house, but you were part of our extended family and we will all miss you. Run Free, Buddy.

  3. I am SO sorry for your neighbors. :-( I hope they realize there was nothing more they could do for poor Manoush - this blood clot that happened to him can happen to any kitty and when it does, there is nothing to do but help him out of his misery. I've heard it happen to a couple of other cats who my human is friends with, and it's always very sudden and sad.

  6. We are very sorry to read about handsome Manoush, and to happen in one so young too.... Äiti too has seen a cat with this (saddle thrombosis?) but luckily then the kitty was not in pain but the outcome was the same. There is nothing that can be done. It was good, however, that #1 was there to help quickly.
    Run free Manoush xxx

  10. We're sorry to hear that your friend Manoush has gone to Rainbow Bridge but although it must have been so hard for your friend it was the kindest act to save him from more suffering. He was such a handsome mancat and it was sad he had to leave them too soon.

  30. Please send our deepest sympathies and our loving thoughts to them. This is exactly how we lost Ryker 4 years ago this fall. It's sudden, shocking, devastating. We had the hardest time deciding what to do for him - and had just decided to let them help him to the Bridge when he passed away. From totally normal to ... gone... in 4 hours.

Oh how we feel their pain!!!! PLEASE send them our love!
