Wednesday Whinnies

Vidock: Studly Neighs, Every Friend! So, #1 is away and we have been abandoned, but we wanted to share with you a few photos from just before when #1 left, as we both got new shoes on Friday! #1 didn't manage to get many photos of the farrier at work because she was actually holding us most of the time!

In other news, whilst in England this week, #1 has also been spending sometime with Percheron horses in Hampshire, and here are a few photos she sent us from there.

This is Crystal on the left and Axl on the right. He has been English Champion Percheron Stallion more than once and works on the farm, as does his "missus" Crystal who is in foal to him. The baby is due in a couple of months. These two live together in the same field!

#1 spent part of the afternoon behind these four (left to right: Axl, Crystal, Edith and Felicity) pulling a heavy roller over the field:

And these guys, Leon and Levi, were busy delivering hay to the various herds, with Harbridge Church in the background:

By the way, Harbridge Church has a beautiful stained glass window in it featuring Percheron horses at work!

Isn't it just beautiful?

  1. You both looked really pleased with your new shoes. We enjoyed looking at the stained glass. It's very grand and we think when the sun shines the horses would look very majestic as well.

  2. I LOVED seeing the stained-glass window with Percheron horses on it! And it is interesting and fun to see the other Percheron's where #1 is right now, working. I didn't know they did that until reading your blog this past year or so. I was a silly kitty and thought everyone was in a field or box just spinning the hours away. It is good to work.

Crystal and Axl are beautiful. I would love to see the baby!
