Thankful Thursday - Collared!

Genji: Now you may or may not know that, in this house, the boys wear collars and the girls mostly don't. I am not sure whether it means we are superior or that we should complain. Anyway, Da Beebs and I both wear breakaway collars (Tommy wears a fancy rolled leather handmade collar) and #1 had noticed that both were looking a little the worse for wear. So, she went and ordered two new collars, in perfect colours, from Red Dingo!

Now there is a further rather interesting rule here: Da Beebs has a bell on his collar and I don't. It seems strange as he has the loudest miaow in the house and I have the tiniest. Anyway, that is how #1 can tell if he is lurking close to the front door etc...

Despite what it looks like, # 1 is not throttling Da Beebs in this photo:

In addition to his bell, he has a little gold heart locket on his collar.

And here is mine. Blue suits me so well, don't you think?

She tells me there is a little fish charm somewhere which she is going to add to my collar, but this requires some organisation...

As the season is approaching, she was also looking through our Christmas collars. During the festive season, ALL of us wear Christmas collars, even Tommy. He has a great one from Dublin Dog!

Anyway, I am sure you would love to see another picture of me. In this one, you can see how frayed my previous collar was getting:

And here is Da Beebs wearing his old collar. As you can see, that was also looking a little ratty:

Do you guys all wear collars? We are also microchipped, in case you were wondering.

PS: By the way, for those of you who are on FaceBook, we just wanted to mention that there now is a The Poupounette page in which we try to post photos that are not on the blog.

Wild on Wednesday

Bibi-Chan: NO! I did not do a Houbibi!!! But here I am in the cat run which is increasingly looking like a jungle, enjoying some lovely sunshine and looking like a miniature mountain lion!

Tama-Chan's Terrifying Tuesday!

Tama-Chan: So, I am informed that this is Halloween Week and that we are supposed to be scary. I am also informed that a number of my friends are being dressed up in "funny" costumes by their humans. So, as a combo Halloween contribution and warning to #1 (who, one must be fair, has never even considered dressing us up), here is a photo for you:

Well, that's over and done with and I can return to being a very ladylike and gentle ladycat doing useful things such as lounging in my sky hammock:

Or occupying #1's desk chair:

Oh, and I was forgetting it is also Toesday, so here is a shot of my perfect back toes for you:

And my not quite so perfect front right paw which has a couple of atrophied toes:

But #1 says it takes absolutely nothing away from my beauty!

I hope you weren't too scared by that very first shot!

Windy Manly Monday

Tom: Woofs, Everyone! There is a big wind storm stirring things up over here this morning! Last night, we closed all our shutters for the first time since last winter!

I have had a very social few days. keeping #1 company in a number of outings. Firstly, I got to go out and have pizza again!

I have also accompanied #1 to friends' houses:

And have been enjoying romping in the fields

Genji: #1 has been good about photo shoots for all of us lately (unlike some of you, we all like photo shoots!). What do you think of this one?

How about this one of the "Sleeping Sweetie"?

And at full alert on lizard watch!

Da Beebs: #1 caught me the other day when I was utterly mesmerised by something. She never figured out what it was...

I think I look very thoughtful in this one:

And here I am last week, truly enjoying autumn window whiffies:

Vidock: Neighs, Every Friend! There are some exciting things happening in my life which I shall tell you about later this week. In the meantime, #1 got some great photos of me over the past few days!

Here I am, just outside my box, after a good grooming from #1:

#1 says she thinks this picture is very manly and romantic:

But I kinda like this one:

Have a great week, Everyone!

Snuggles on Sunday

Tama-Chan: So, what time is it? Did our European friends remember to reset their clocks and get in that extra hour of sleep last night? An extra hour for snuggling is a precious thing!!!

I have lately returned to one of my favourite positions, which is sharing #1's desk chair. This means that she has to teeter on the edge but she swears that she doesn't mind...

In the same old, same old category, Sei-Chan has been snuggling with Tommy:

But she has also been snuggling in bed with #1!

As has My Beebs:

And even Tommy!

Oh, and in case you were wondering about Genji...

#1 has been snuggling with Vidock, our "Big V":

And also snuggling with Vidock's Daddy, Orgueil!

Here is a photo of #1 snuggling with Violette from the photo shoot done last week by Ms. D:

And here is one that #1 came across this week, showing her snuggling with TOWCB, Ikkyu. It was taken back in the late 1990s, in Tokyo:

SEIturday

Sei-Chan: Well, it's here, Friends. THAT SEIturday of the year when we move the clocks back and it will get dark one whole hour earlier. This being so, I am putting in place my winter strategy, and have decided that I need to spend more time in bed, specifically #1's bed.

After all, it is the perfect place for a little light bathing...

... and general reflection on matters of importance:

For some reason, #1 thinks this picture of me is quite amusing...

She is easily amused. I mean.... Really!!!

Ah well. Back to my position guarding her bed:

I almost forgot! I do have a couple of sunpuddle photos for you too, from a few days ago!

Have a great SEIturday, Everyone!

Vidock and Violette Vendredi

Vidock: Studly Neighs, Every Friend! Hope you've had a good week. We haven't seen as much of #1 as usual as she has been busy with various things, but maybe she will come and see us today.

Here is a nice photo taken by a nice lady who visited us, Ms. E:

I have been working on my "mud caking" as I hear it's very good for the complexion...

Oh, and here is some fun news: Remember the Dragon's Loyalty Award the Chans received yesterday? well, I received one of my very own from my kitty pal, Savannah!

I am supposed to tell you seven interesting things about myself. Let me see...

1- Even though we often get a bad rap, I am a truly gentle stallion
2- I love cuddles and #1 often finds it difficult to take photos of me because I am always right next to her
3- My grandfather on my daddy's side came from America! He was called Silver Shadows Sheik
4- I am approved for breeding within the French Percheron Stud Book
5- I love both apples and carrots, and treats too! My favourite treats come from a store in the States called Tractor Supply!
6- I have my very own big red jolly ball to kick around my paddock
7- My bestest friend as I was growing up, and until I came here, was my half brother (Big) Tom. I miss him, although #1 goes to see him occasionally

Thanks, Savvy, for thinking of me!

Violette: Pretty Neighs, Everyone! Some of my friends and I had a bit of an adventure earlier this week! We broke through the fence and went into the neighbour's corn field! Ms. C and Mr. L were not pleased at all, even though we came right back out as soon as were called! I am right at the back of this picture:

When Ms. N slapped the head collar on me, I thought I was going to jail, but she just brought me out so that #1 could give me a good grooming.

That was such a relief!

We were very saddened to read this morning that our pal Benny of Two French Bulldogs lost his fight with the Evil C yesterday. He fought really hard but he just got too tired in the end. We send our deepest condolences to his Mom, Andrea, and his sister Lily. We'll miss you, Benny!

Thankful Thursday

Da Beebs: Meee-Yaow, Everyone! The Beebster here with some heavy duty thanking on the agenda! You see, we have received two awards recently, and we need to follow the proper protocol.

Firstly, we Chans received an award called "Bring On The Nip" from Hisia, Genji's little cousin who lives in the south of France:

We are supposed to tell you about something we wish to celebrate. That's pretty simple. We celebrate all of you, our blogging friends, whose joys and tears we share on a daily basis. You have enriched out lives, and we look forward to continuing to share your adventures for many more years.

We are also supposed to pass the award on to between one and twelve other blogs. We have no idea who has already had this one, so forgive us if we are giving you something you've already got. We pass the award on to all the kitties at Mickey's Musings and Team Tabby (they're cousins!), Prancer Pie and Twinkletoe tails, Critters at The Cottage and Cory Cat Blog! That's a LOT of kitties!

We also received the Dragon's Loyalty Arard from The Swiss Cats, Loupi and Zorro.

Now, once again, there are rules and requirements and we are finding it a little much to be asked to nominate 15 other blogs, so we will just nominate a few. Let's start with the boys over at Meezer Tails, and also Flynn, Derby and Ducky, Mr. Bingley and Mr. Darcy over at Purrfect Haven, and the huge crowd including newcomer "Nekkid Seppo" over at Pikku Punapippuri!

And that is not all! We are also supposed to tell you seven interesting facts about ourselves.

1- We are all closely related, except for Genji.

2- Tama has not yet forgiven Da Beebs for not leaving home when he was weaned...

3- Sei-Chan is a terrible scaredy cat.

4- I, Da Beebs, talk more than everyone else combined

5- Genji has a tiny squeaky voice, and specialises in the silent miaow

6- Mama Tama and I love all the same foods

7- Genji and I make loud proclamations before using the litterbox

Phew. That was a lot of work. I think I need a nap.

Tom: I have something to be thankful for as well! A couple of days ago, as I mentioned, I had the best time going logging in the woods with Orgueil, Vidock's Daddy. You should have seen the sludge!!!

I am not too sure just how thankful I was for the bath that followed our return home, although the water in the tub was deliciously warm!

#1 actually used a shampoo called "Dirty Beastie"!!!

She said I smelled just wonderful afterwards!
