Wednesday Whinnies

Violette: Pretty Neighs, Everyone. Violette here! It seems like ages and ages since we have had a WW post and I have lots to tell you about!

Of course, first and foremost, there is the fact of #1's return which we are both over the moon about. It means the return of the treat bucket and lots and lots of cuddles. And for me, personally, it means the huge pleasure of carrying #1 on my back again regularly! We have been out for rides through the coutryside three times in the last five days!

Here, we are going by a field of sunflowers in full bloom:

And here I am afterwards, waiting for my treat bucket!

And would you look at the fab new head collar (halter) that #1 brought me!

I think it's so pretty and feminine!

And talking of feminine, I was also ridden side-saddle for the first time last weekend! It wasn't #1 as she said that really isn't her thing, but the very nice Ms. L who will ride me for some of the events at the Percheron Horse Festival on August 15th did it, and she said I was just fabulous!

Apparently, there are quite a few horses that simply will not tolerate that kind of saddle but it wasn't a problem for "Can-Do Violette"!!!

Vidock: Studly Neighs, Everyone! I got a magnificent new head collar too. It's very studly! But #1 hasn't had a chance to try it on me yet. We will do that first chance we get and show you.

My best news is that my isolation is over and I am back in the field that I was in over the winter. It is right at the end of the lane, where it turns, so I can see everyone coming and going, and keep an eye on all the girls too.

Here I am, savouring my treat bucket, with Mr. Floppy Ears nearby:

The treats were so good that I had to lick my chops afterwards!

The flies have been really terrible lately. #1 brought his fancy anti-fly spray back from Canada, so she came over to spray my face. I wasn't too sure about it...

But since I got a bunch of kisses along with the spray, I said OK!

  6. We see #1 has her new polo shirt on - very becoming too:) Violette, we love your new collar - it is very feminine indeed and colorful too. And Vidock, those kisses would surely make that spray more tolerable - hope it keeps the flies away too.

    Happy WW!

  7. Violette semble être vraiment une adorable jument facile à vivre.
J'ai un faible pour Vidock. J'aime sa couleur, son allure en général.
Et j'espère que l'anti mouche est efficace.
    Bonnes balades.

I hope the flies will stop pestering you now, Vidock! Good job letting #1 spray around your face; mom knows that can be a little scary!

  11. So nice that you have got #1 back and that you look so happy. I hope that spray works because the fly's are a nuisance at the moment. Love the new head collar and hey you so clever to allow that side saddle so well.. Hugs GJ xx

  12. Your new head collar is very pretty Violette. You are such a good girl to let Ms. L ride you side saddle.
I hope that fly spray works for you Vidock. The flies are such a nuisance here too. There are a lot of the little crabby flies this year as well as the usual horse flies.
