Wednesday Whinnies

Violette: Pretty Neighs, Everyone! It's me again, Violette! Guess what? On Monday, I went on my first actual outing in the great outdoors! As it was a first and nobody knew how I would react, Ms. C rode me and #1 followed on another mare. She took this photo:

I was a really good girl! Even though I was clearly a little anxious at all the new sights, sounds and smells, I wasn't a scaredy girl at all, and I was even up front for about half our ride, alternating with #1 and her mare, Riesling.

So, I was so happy with myself that I did a happy dance when I got home. I'll show you!

First, you bow to your partner:

As you are raising your head from the bow, you stomp your right foot:

Then you hold your head up high and stomp your left foot!

And then you give your partner "the look"...

Our plan was for #1 to ride me a lot this week, but I am on a little hiatus again as there has been an unexpected loss in Ms. C's family. I'll be back dancing next week.

Vidock: Studly Neighs, Pals! Well, I'm still not doing anything other than showing off my handsomeness. Maybe I too will get to do something else from next week. In the meantime, just admire me, OK?

By the way, we would like to say a big THANK YOU for those readers who have taken the trouble to tell us how much they enjoy photos and news of us. We know we can be a bit of a stretch in a community that is much more centred around kitties and woofies...

  2. These are magnificent photos. And we are pleased to see them. Often though, we are not sure what to say, especially as you hosses are sooooo huge. I am a mere King Kitty Cat of Finland (North) and even though we know you are gentle and a lot of fun, one misplaced hoof and - ouchie! But we do like the photos and reading about you - afterall the blogosphere takes all sorts and we must celebrate differences and enjoy and learn. Even from girlcats. hehehehe. Happy Wednesday folks.

  3. You are very good Violette not to be scared of all the new sights and sounds. I liked your happy dance.
You look very handsome and studly in your field Vidock.
I like to see the pictures of both of you because I mostly see the hooves of the horses and ponies here. Mum tells me not to get too close though. They sneak up behind me when I am mouse hunting and snuffle my butt and make me jump.

Vidock tu n'a pas besoin de faire quelque chose de spécial .. tu es juste toi, majestueux.

  10. Vidock, you don't have to be doing anything special for us to admire your handsomeness. And Violette, we are so proud of you for being so good on that ride. We are sorry for Ms. C's loss and send our sympathies.

We have to add how much we do enjoy seeing the horses, as well as Tommy and the Chans - always a fun visit for us.

  17. I love looking at pictures of the beautiful Violette and the studly Vidock. I've never really been around horses much and honestly, their size is a bit scary. But looking at how much Violette and Vidock love #1, I envy all of you.
p.s. Love the dance and the rest of your furry family too : )
