Tama-Chan: Those of you who have been our friends for years may remember this, but since we have so many more recent friends, we thought we would talk a little bit about my very special toes.
Take a look at my front right paw. Do you see anything unusual?
That's right! There's something missing! I have one toe less than standard. I am in fact the opposite of a polydactyl, with just three toes on my front right paw!
Now my front left paw is also unusual because I have a couple of atrophied toes:
And that is how and why I came to live with #1, Sen-Chan and Tommy. I was useless to my breeder. He said that if I had not had my toe issues, I would probably have been a top grade show cat. But I was lucky, I think, because I came to live here instead. And when I had my litter of kits, they all had perfect toes!
My back paws, by the way, have the requisite number of toes!
And my toe issue has never stopped me from doing anything. Do you remember the famous picture, taken a few years ago, showing the Headless Tama?
And here I am a couple of days ago, seriously pondering the catching of the Neko Fly:
Last but not least, we would all like to send comforting purrs, woofs, neighs and hugs to Khyra and her family. They lost their sweet Golden cousin Merdie who made her journey to the Bridge yesterday. Run Free, Merdie!

We didn't know about your toesies - they are gorgeous - fused, missing, whatever. but the headless shot still unnerves us.

Tama you have such unusual front toes but beware if you've been somewhere you shouldn't #1 will know by your paw print!

If you ask me, Tama, I think the life of a show cat looks like a grind - you are much better off having a life of leisure!
Tama, that is darn interesting about your toes. And very nice that your kittens all had perfect toes! Just proves that toe number and beauty and sweetnesss do not equate.

Tama, the mom says the more unique a kitteh, the more she wants to kiss em. She wanted to give the computer screen a smooch when she saw yer toesie piccy. MOL Silly the mom!
