Thankful Thursday?

Tom: Only a few days left till Christmas and right, now, we are mostly grateful that #1 hasn't had a meltdown...yet.... She  has too much to do, and too much pending from before. And we have 15 people coming over on Friday evening. It is a pot-luck dinner but  we are hosting, so the place must at least look vaguely presentable. And of course, unexpected work always arrives when there is no time to do it! Oh, and it's raining non-stop!

Yesterday afternoon, we rushed over to see the Vs and then dropped in on Dr. C to give her some Christmas goodies. Now that the Vs are so much closer to where her practice is, she will be looking after them too!

We are all doing our bit for #1. Even Tama-Chan hopped on to her bed this morning for a cuddle, and Sei-Chan has been giving her lots of attention. As for me, well, you know what they say about spaniel eyes, don't you?

  6. That they make you feel all warm and fuzzy. We love looking at your eyes Tommy and your ears make us giggle. Fenris has a few curly ear hairs like that.

  7. From a breed description of English Springer Spaniels: "This dog's expression is alert, kindly and trusting, just think of the expression 'spaniel eyes'. When they look up at you with those deep brown or dark hazel eyes they could get away with anything."

  8. I'm sure between the kitty snuggles and looking into those beautiful spaniel eyes that #1 will feel better and everything will be just fine.

  9. Sounds like you guys are making sure all runs smoothly - as good kittehs and puppehs always do! (Shhh don't tell #1 who's really in charge, 'k?)

  12. You are all very wise to help #1 relax. It is hard not to be stressed when there are too many things to do at once.

  13. Tell your human when things get too hectic, to just stop for a moment and take a few slow, deep breaths! My human, who was a fitness and yoga writer for a few years (until kitty business overtook it!), says it works wonders! I know your dinner party will be awesome!

  15. "Perfect" dinner parties are rarely that. Perfection comes from a warm, welcoming, relaxed environment, guests of all species with joy in their hearts, and no value judgments or expectations except what you, yourself, can add to the festivities. Your #1's party will brilliant!
Oh Tommy what sweet, beautiful eyes! Absolutely captivating! You could steal the dinner roast and no one could possibly reprimand you. Love to all.
