Whinnies on Wednesday

Violette: Pretty neighs everyone! Violette reporting. I thought you might like to hear about my progress at school. The whole thing has been happening a little in fits and starts because the weather was so bad until just recently, and there are several other horses being schooled at the moment, including two young stallions (read "ego trip" here...). And no, I am mot referring to Vidock who has something of a reputation as a sweetheart!

So here I am, waiting for my lesson to start:

Being put through my paces:

So, the big challenge for this lesson was to see if I could conquer my fear of the evil plastic tarpaulin. We horses are very iffy about stepping onto evil plastic tarpaulins (or is that "tarpaula"?). Anyway, here I am having good sniff:

And, as you can see from this little video, I conquered the tarp!

After that was over, I was taken to the "spa room" where Mr. E worked on picking up my feet. You see, I have never seen a farrier and so I need to learn to give my feet!

Sorry I am looking a bit "muddy." I did get a lovely shower afterwards!

I hope you all have a Wonderful Wednesday!

  2. Violette, you look gorgeous and I know you looked even more so after your shower.
I'm proud of you for conquering that evil tarp. That would have caused me to be wary too...one can't blame you for feeling the same and yet..you came, you sniffed and you conquered.

I hope you get an A+ in your school work. Looks as though you will. xoxox

  5. Wow what a brave girl! I can remember doing basics training with my little one. I used to rub plastic bags all over his body. I really enjoyed being able to do training from the beginning but it looks like miss V will waste no time catching up!

  7. Wow. You have a far harder day than I do! I don't like my feet touched at all, but I think if I say know it's easier for someone to insist...

  13. No worries for you. That plastic did make a very scary sound. It's OK to be a little afraid as long as you don't let it show.

  15. Lovely, lovely Violette.... You're brave and plucky and game to figure it all out--tarpaula included. We know, with the encouragement of your magical family, you're going to learn all the proper horse moves at school. We're delighted we can watch.

  17. Great work, Violette. You sure didn't waste any time getting on and past that tarp. We don't think we would like to walk on that either.

We think Vidock is a very handsome sweetheart:)
