Thankful Thursday

Bibi-Chan:
The weather is seriously stinky today. It's not cold but it is pouring with rain and #1 said the fields were totally soggy and squelchy when they went out with Tommy this morning (he needed serious wiping down on his return!). So, we are grateful for being indoors where it is warm and dry, and for having lots of entertainment!

We got a big delivery from Zooplus and it came in a box large enough to hold four times as much stuff. #1 has now designated it an official play area for us!

#1 also got us a proper dome yesterday. We all checked it out when it first arrived but haven't been in it since...

In response to some of the enquiries following yesterday's post, #1 would like to say that she in fact helped a friend take a horse who was quite unwell to a special vet after his regular vet completely botched care. The horse was unwell but still very powerful and almost demolished the van along the way. He is now safely at the vet's and in very good hands.

Also, for those of you who are not familiar with it, we should tell you a little but about "Chi's Sweet Home." It is a "manga" series about the life of a little lost kitten who is taken it by a young Japanese family. It has also been made into an animated series. #1 has been buying the books since they first started to come out and just got the latest volume, as well as the calendar, when she was in Tokyo!

  1. That box looks like fun. My Fun House similarly came in a huge box, even though it was skinny and fit in the bottom: the rest of the box was filled with brown paper.

Chi sounds like lots of fun. Are there English versions?

  3. That box looks great for playing games in and for jumping out of on to some passing feet or paws!!
We hope your friends horse gets the right treatment at the new vets.

  4. Thank God the horse is now in the hands of a competent vet. Your mum is a good friend. God bless her.
We are praying for the horse's speedy and full recovery.
    Lots of love to you.

  6. I'm glad that horse is doing well. I'm also glad it was not our friend Vidock!

That box is so totally awesome! I'd be jumpin' out at every passing leg and tail and my eyes would be all lazer-y and shiny!

    BOP!

  7. Seems as though the box is more fun than the dome! We're glad #1 was able to help her friend transport the horse. We are purring for the horsie!

  9. Yoor box is awesome ~ get yoor beans to cut little cat-size doorways into it for maximum fun. We have a box-den each ~ and we LOVE them.

We are sending healing purrs for the horse.

  10. Hey guys!! We're here, we're here!! Mom keeps having various problems...first with the modem then she was sick in bed and etc., but WE'RE STILL HERE!! We love seeing all the pictures of you guys doin' fun stuff and Tommy in the snowy fields and Vidock looking big and handsome. We love your stories and the things you tell us and hearing all about #1's travels and adventures. We're sorry that you are having icky soggy weather. I sorta wish we were having the same...we were just reflecting on that, in fact, whether we would prefer having a foot of hard-packed snow/ice (a month and a half's worth of snow compacted down) and everything all white and icy (because the snow just keeps coming despite all that we already have) or if we would prefer it to be gray and gray...maybe this white stuff isn't so bad...at least it doesn't squish under your feet. It crunches...but even that I am not sure about since Tiny and I have been snuggled in our warm sweater beds close to heat sources...Ellwood, being the wild and crazy Czech dog that he is, seems to love the snow and not care a bit about it being cold....he even EATS the stuff!! Do you think he gets one of those head-aches like beans do when they eat ice cream too fast? (Mom gets these that's how I know about them) You are welcome to come up here and enjoy the snow! Actually, Mom and Ellwood were just outside and would you believe that they said it is RAINING out there? Wow...there is going to be one big ice rink tomorrow!! We're staying put in the house!! We send you guys lots of purrs and laughs and good wishes!! Lautrec, Tiny and Ellwood

  12. We love boxes!!! We are glad that the horse will be okay. Momma thought that was a Manga photo but that is not anything like we see over here.

  21. We hear that kitties really like boxes so we can see some fun times for you, Bibi-Chan. Just don't let #1 seal it on you:) You might find yourself on a road trip to who knows where.

Thanks for the explanation about the Chi series - maybe something the Momster could interest the oldest grandbiped in.
