Thursday Try-Outs

Sei-Chan: So, the Winter Olymics are on and there seem to be an awful lot of events for us cats too! I am most impressed!

We had a long discussion with #1 as to which events we could enter. She says that Tama-Chan should be in the EXTREME CLIMBING event which is being run by House of Cats:

Now you must undrestand that in her case, it is not a question of how high, but that she actually managed the climb WITHOUT HER HEAD!!! How is that for extreme?! Note that this photo is as taken. It has been nowhere near Photoshop!

As for me, I decided to enter the COMPETITIVE NAPPING competition that is being run by Huffle Mawson. Here is my entry which shows me in my hammock, shutting out the world:

Yuu-Chan heard there is also a CURLING competition on Grrreta's blog, so he decided to enter with this photo!

Curly paws and curly tail... But we still can't figure out who is actually hosting this event. Help!

We had fun doing this. Thanks to the organisers!!!

  2. Such delightful entries! I love the headless climb! I wasn't aware of the Curling event, but I entered into the competition late in the games. Good Luck!

  5. Tama-Chan where oh where is your HEAD!!!!! I have never climbed without my head before and I thought I was a pro. ~Scylla

Sei-chan great napping and Yuu Chan you are just too cute. The Cat Olympics were Fin from Housecat Confidential's idea. Jim & Bob are the friendly commentators for us cats. ~AFSS

  9. Wow Tama-Chan, that really is some extreme climbing, what with not having your head and all! Our question is, where was it at the time? Very talented indeed!

And of course both you and Yuu-Chan are adorable in your curling pictures!

  13. I love your Cat Olympics pics! I think you have a good chance of winning!
You asked when the pelicans come through Iowa in the spring. Honestly, I do not know. You never hear about them then, but they have a big Pelican Fest at a large lake nearby in August.

  14. What talent! I'd say you're all winners. That headless climbing is CRAZY!

  15. I think Tama-Chan should get extra points for the judges for a high degree of difficulty for climbing without her head. And for being so foxy!

  16. Great entries. We're most impressed with the headless climb, but since our favourite game in the olympics is curling we're quite taken by that picture, too!

  17. Just when I thought I couldn't find any more impressive feat, along comes Tama-Chan with her headless climb! I'm meow-less.

  19. All three of those are amazing performances. As said by many others, Tama has done something beyond extreme with the headless climb. Hammock naps are the best, and the curliness of Yuu's curling entry is expert form.

  20. Great entries everycat! I have to agree with Daisy - that headless climb is truly amazing :)

  21. Very impressive performances! We agree that climbing without a head is definitely extreme. Yuu-Chan, We don't think any kitty is actually hosting the curling event yet. We've seen a curling post Glogirly/Katie's blog too. We love your take on curling....very original!

  24. My you all have your talents! I think it was Tama-Chan who came by and offered to let me snuggle and I so appreciate it. I will come by as soon as the Woman isn't around so she is not jealous that I went to France and she did not...

  27. Such great entries...they all look golden to me!

  28. After all those snuggling photos I would never have guessed you were such champion athletes. Of course the headless climbing kind of reminded me of one of my favorite stuffies.

But the curling was most beautiful. Such form. A 10 for sure.
