Tommy rolled.....

.... in the neighbour's manure pile yesterday afternoon. Tommy was such a mess that the usual washing off with the garden hose was not even a possibility. So Tommy got put in the tub and had a proper shower and shampoo, with WARM water!

Tommy loves warm water showers!

Followed by blankie time on the sofa!

PS from #1: For those of you who are perplexed, spaniels often love water...

  4. Nice score on the manure roll, Tommy. How soon before you do it again?

  5. Nothing like a good roll to enhance your dogginess! But then humans always have to replace that good scent with flowery smells. Alas, sounds like you got quite a bit of attention out of the whole event.

  6. Tommy

Not even a hot shower would do it for me! I hate getting wet!

  7. We wonder why woofies like to do that? Tommy doesn't look all that happy about the hot shower to us, but he does look very pleased with the blanket on the couch. Stay out of that manure pile Tom!

  9. That is funny that Tommy likes warm showers! Both Sammy and Alice detest bathing....there is not much here to roll in, but in Pea Ridge, Alice has been known to roll in dead things...yuck! Skunks are also a problem there. According to one of our favorite literary dog heroes, Hank the Cowdog, rolling in dead skunk or any other smelly material enhances the manly aroma of any male dog and the lady dogs love it!

  10. He is lucky he got a bath and go to like on that nice blanket afterwards! What was he thinking?!

  11. Hmm, he likes warm showers, he did something that meant he would get a warm shower - I sense a bit of conspiracy here!

But really, we just don't get the rolling in manure thing - maybe because we are kitties.

  12. Hahahahaha! So it IS a woofie thing. You might remember that Emma the Beagle rolled in a manure heap too. Oh Tom-Kun, we're glad you didn't get hosed down, but the nice spa treatment. You must smell really fancy now.

  15. Ooh, a warm water bath! You are so lucky, Tommy. I have to admit though, neither Chani nor I actually like getting baths. Hehe... glad your roll in poo had good results for you :)

  16. Interesting facts. You should submit them to Dogs 101 to help them get theirs straight. I learned two thing: Spaniels often love water, and they always love manure. Cool, thanks.

  22. What a strange thing to do, Tommy. We hear woofies do that sometimes but we can't understand why. We bet the rest of your family is grateful that you like warm showers ;-)

You look so cute with your ears wet :-)
