Somewhat Woeful Manly Monday

Tom: Here I am, with a post all (?) to myself. I was so looking forward to showing off my manliness with some sporting shots but fate would not have it. #1 and I went to play tennis ball in the field yesterday and when we were ready to come home, she noticed a few pink spots on me here and there. Wen she finally managed to get me to stand still long enough, she realised that I had yet again (AGAIN!) injured one of my pawpads! In the past, it was always the stop pad, but this time, it's the big pawpad on my front left paw! It wasn't bothering me one bit but #1 insisted that we go home, wash the paw, disinfect it, put healing cream on it, and bandage it up. She did a pretty good job, actually...

#1 talked to the vet who said that I should keep the bandage on for 2-3 days. In the interim, no major running in the field, so we have been trying to think of less vigorous alternatives. This morning, we went for a nice walk around the moat of our medieval castle, the Château St. Jean. As you can see, I was in fine form regardless of my temporary handicap:

Pssssst... please see below for a photo of a tiny Mancat in Training.........

  1. Oh Tommy, your poor old foot. We hope you have a quick recovery, buddy. Have you seen those little booties that some policedogs wear, to protect them against broken glass and stuff like that? Would that help your feet?

Our mum's head just exploded from the cuteness of Sir!

  2. Oh noes, poor Tom! That is a lot of paw accidents in a short time. The bandage looks fantastic though and gives you an air of roughness. ; )
Little Red, we think even upside down you'd look adorable! Every side is your best one.
    Take care all and one!

  3. Aw, Tom, sorry that you injured your foot. We're glad it doesn't hurt and that you were a good boy and let your momma bandage it. Hope it heals up soon so that you can return to running in your field. My goodness, that little Mancat in Training is soooooo cute!

  4. Sorry to hear about your paw Tom. I guess you just run so hard that you cut your pads. Try not to chew off your bandage (what I would do) and I am sure you will be back to frisbee catching in your field soon.

  5. Poor Tom. #1 is going to be a pro dog-fixer-upper!! At least you got to take in such beautiful views on your walk.

Sir, we are glad we only get you in small doses at the moment as too much would prove lethal to the PM's attention span!

  6. Tom, I hope your paw gets better soon. I am glad it doesn't hurt you though. Can you please tell me how to get kitties to be friends with you? I would love to snuggle with my fur siblings but they won't come near me. ~Fenris

Little Sir is such a little bitty thing. We thinks he is adorable. We are looking forward to finding out his name. Fenris is not a little bitty thing and we are scared of him although he is a very friendly puppy. ~Socks, Scylla & Charybdis

  9. Oh my goodness, Tommy! That has to be a serious ouch. I know that if I hurt one of my pads, I would never have let my human pet hear the end of it. You're way too nice of a dog!

I came here via Tuck's blog, and I'm glad I did. It's always great to meet new friends, even if they're canines. ;)
