The Mark of the Cat

Tom: In response to several comments following yesterday's post, I asked #1 to take another photo showing my "Mark of the Cat."

Do you see it on my left rump? When #1 first met me, it was one of the first things she noticed! It looked like a large feline had branded me in the womb! I carry my mark with pride and this would of course explain why I "belong" to Sen-Chan...

Sen-Chan: I think it's a great shame that more dogs don't carry "the mark." We really lucked out that Tom came to live with us. I of course do not have any marks on my person, just that shiny redness, which means that I really look good against beautiful patterns!

  1. I'm quite willing to give you a good nose to toes grooming and check for any marks! ;) That way you could be certified as "mark free"...

As for running away together, I must say I rather like the idea. It's just so romantic! The only thing is how will I pack Mummy's bed, my litter box, my other bed, my play tent, my run, my dinner bowl and all my toy mice? I think I might need a big removal van to be able to run away properly! ;)

  2. What a fabulous paw print! I wonder if Petey has one under all that scruffy hair?

  5. Whoa...that is a very interesting marking on your rump! I think it might scare me under certain circumstances....like Halloween!

Thanks for the birthday wishes. It's been a great year and I tried hard to grow up nicely. Come by my super huge birthday event. I'll put you on the VIP guest list.

Ben the Rotti is my bouncer, and I'll make sure he whisks you into the VIP Playroom. Deetzy Boy is in charge of Fun, so check with him about games. I've got Chaney & Skye the border collies keeping all the dogs in line and away from any mischief. Of course, my friends Stanislaw and Big Pupi are in charge of the tasties...LOTS of meaty bones will be on hand.

    See you soon!

  6. Hmmm, the only "mark of the cat" I have is toothmarks on my delicious, pink ears from EG putting the bitey on them all the time. Your mark is way cooler. And less painful.

  9. Dear Tom,
We very much approve of your mark. We are glad you have such a wonderful brother like Sen-Chan to belong to.

Maybe if he is not busy you could send him over for a game of chase??
